2012 fixtures are capped

At last they have seen sense to cap the number of meetings to 1400 for the 2012 season as its been finally recognized by the "G &"T mob there is far too much racing with small fields and uncompetive racing, during the summer months I accept it generates levy for bookmakers on a Saturday but having 6 meetings on 1 given day then just 2 is a bit too much

Re: 2012 fixtures are capped Don't really know the ins and outs to this debate. But personally i would like to see more uniformity in the number of meetings each day. On some days there are 2 meetings yet on some saturdays there are 8 ,9 or 10. 12 on Bank hiolidays .Can they not balance it out and have between 4 and 6 every single day ? Obviously there are many things to consider and often we hear theres far too much low grade racing which i agree with , but if there was a reduction how will these horses get a run ?
