In the Polish Ekstraklasa they have just 2 draws at the moment, both away and it's time to confirm the fact, that they really are the champions. Zaglebie once won and once drew, both at home, so it's time for a first away match and from the start they get angry Wisla. 3 points for the champions! 2) Lechia Gdansk v Cracovia Kraków [email protected] 8/10 We have two teams that lost their first 2 matches at Polish Ekstraklasa. The difference are huge however. Cracovia played both matches at home and lost with Legia Warsaw 1-3, which is a very unpredictible team at the moment (my favorite) and with a Korona Kielce which are rather weak team. On the other hand we have Lechia - for the first time on their new and really amaizing stadium (PGE ARENA - check it!) with results 2-1 last week with Jagiellonia, which was a really unfortunate loose, because Lechia was a better team, and a 1-0 with Polonia Warsaw which is considered for championship battle this year. This time I will concentrate on 1 game and I will tell You why: Legia Warszawa v Slask Wroclaw [email protected] (1.85 unibet) Legia has a really IMPRESSIVE game against rich and in-form Spartak Moscov. It's a pitty that they finally draw. Legia was 1-0 and 2-1 leading and Spartak was lucky to level the game. By the same time Slask lost to Romanian side at home 1-3 and it was Rapid Bucaresti not Dinamo. Full squad for Legia, great morale and very nice play. All form win with Slask. GL :ok Now, why I don't bet on the other matches: 1) Lech should win, but the price is awful. 1st half with GKS wasn't so good and they scored all 3 goals in 11 minutes. Ruch will park the bus and I'm not sur if they will not make a point there. 2) Wisla Kraków - has in mind a big match witch Apoel in CL quals. They draw with Widzew away, so even 2,6 for the champions is not so good. Korona is at the same level at the moment and they will not sell cheap. Polonia Warsaw shouldn't loose at Widzew. Podbeskidzie even at home shows that they are pretty pathetic when it comes to defending. It looked a bit better last time against Widzew but today the opponent not only will be stronger in offense, but will as well play at home, where Zaglebie always feels much better. Zaglebie will def go for it as so far had to play top teams, now newcomers comes, a team that got trashed 0-6 by average Belchatow last time on road. I dont expect that high score but something around 3-0 should be kind of routine win. Zaglebie's offensive power is worth admiring and against this vulnerable defense they should have enough chances today to beat this line. Like this one a lot. Zaglebie had very good games against top teams and the other day against Podbeskidzie were poor, they were better team but still expected much more from them. Pity. They were not the same team that played Wisla and Lech before. I cant believe they can play that bad again, coach was pretty mad but said there will no punishment for players, they have to wipe that game out with a victory today. Cracovia is a team absolutely beateable, never trusthworthy on road and season by season with very vulnerable defense. Even crapper today as they miss both cb's and left back. It is a blow but to be honest not sure if that huge one as clearly there in defense most of those players are crap so no matter who plays. Zaglebie will be full and at home I will repeat, they are strong, they just need to give a bit more. They thought week ago it will be walk in the park but it was not and I believe they will not make the same mistake again today. At their best they should win this game by couple of goals. Gornik Zabrze - Lech Poznan 2 @2.13 SBO The other bet today I took is Lech. Clearly the best team in Poland right now. Extremly efficient, controlling the game, big ball possesion and Stilic-Rudnev in top form. Joy to watch, they were so far better in every game they played. Wisla and Legia will play in euro cups this season and in Poland it means they will be loosing pts in league and becuase of that Lech becomes nr 1 to win the title this season. They miss key cb Arboleda but Gornik is not really that great in offense. They did beat Belchatow last round after good game, but Belchatow is clearly no match to Lech (Lech destroyed them few rounds ago). On the pitch there should be quality difference visible. Legia finally got a grip with good results and the ability to score goals. They are comming off a big win over Spartak Moscow in European League and they may have been distracted a bit to face a lowly ŁKS. The fact speak overwhelmingly for Legia. ŁKS is 0-1-3 and 0-11 (!) in goals after four rounds. On the other hand Legia managed to eliminate Gaziantep and Spartak from EL and beat Gornik and Cracovia by 3-1 each. Last week they lost at home 1-2 to Slask but that doesn't change much in my evaluation since Slask should fight for places 1-3 and when they met ŁKS earlier this month they won 4-0. Last week ŁKS managed to earn a draw vs Lechia Gdansk but from the match report I have read that they barely had shots on goal and had to defend all 90 minutes long. ŁKS has some players who used to play for Legia what could give them an extra motivation (Mieciel, Szalachowski). There will be hardly a home field advantage for ŁKS since they are playing in Belchatow on a neutral venue. To sum up I reckon bookies are aware of the fact that Legia may disrespect ŁKS and feel too complacent after beating Spartak but since they have three weeks before group stage of EL will start they should collect points in the league before they will be forced to play every three, four days. Normally a good bet would be to play Legia to keep clean sheet @ 2,25 but if I play it I would include it in fun combos. This round of Ekstraklasa has started with quite unexpected results for favourites (Lech and Zaglebie) and this could be a hard round for punters. Final Score: Lech Poznan 0 Wisla Krakow 1 From what I saw, Wisla were comfortably the better team, and the 0-1 scoreline flatters Lech, who I didn't really see have a chance. By contrast, Wisla looked solid at the back and dangerous in attack throughout, and could have scored 3 or 4. A scoreline of 0-3 would have been a fairer reflection of the game. First, they can play a good meeting with Lech, would later play weak competition from the OB. For sure the pressure in the team is large, the failures the team reacted well, and I think now would be the same. If Wisla not commit such mistakes in the defense of a gull is a result we can be calm. Surprisingly couple of experienced defenders-Chavez (Honduran representative playing the WC) and Jaliens (ex-AZ) can play badly. However, their opponent does not seem as strong as the OB. Up front they are best player Melikson, creative Iliev and unpredictable Malecki (if they play)- so this is good.
