MLB: July 24th picks

Recommended Posts

Cleveland -1.5 @ 2.66 pinnacle Masterson is 8-6, with a 2.64 ERA as he has allowed 2 runs or less in 8 of his last 10 starts (total of 19 runs) with 8 runs in his last 5 home starts. He is 2-3 with a 2.15 ERA in 8 starts against the Chicago White Sox, allowing 1 run in each of the last 4 starts against them, including his last start in May where they ended up losing 1-0 in Chicago. Jackson is 6-7, with a 3.97 ERA as he has allowed at least 4 runs in 5 of his last 10 starts (total of 27 runs) with at least 4 runs in 3 of his last 4 road starts. Though he is 8-0 with a 2.73 ERA in his last 9 starts against Cleveland, the Indians have seen enough of him to score some runs here, particularly since they have been hitting much better than the White Sox of late. Pittsburgh - St Louis over 8.5 @ 2.12 pinnacle Morton is 8-5, with a 3.62 ERA as he has allowed at least 3 runs in his last 6 starts (total of 20 runs) which includes 16 runs in his last 4 home starts. He is 2-3 with a 6.43 against St Louis, as he allowed 1 run on 3 hits in the 4-3 road win over them in April this year, but the Cardinals have been hitting well of late. Morton also has a 6.75 ERA in day games, so can see him getting hit here. Lohse is 8-7, with a 3.45 ERA as he has allowed at least 4 runs in 6 of his last 8 starts (total of 30 runs) which includes 4 runs in 4 of his last 5 road starts. He is 0-2 with a 7.88 ERA in his last 3 starts against Pittsburgh as he allowed 4 runs on hits in the loss to Morton in April. Neither pitcher in good form so like both of them to give up runs here. Colorado -1.5 @ 2.28 pinnacle Jimenez is 6-8, with a 4.00 ERA as he has allowed 3 runs or less in each of his last 10 starts (total of 19 runs) with 8 runs in his last 5 road starts. He is 5-4 with a 3.02 ERA against Arizona but hard to fault his recent form, and like him to pitch much better than the 6 runs he game up in the 7-6 loss to them in April this year. Owings is 3-0, with a 2.76 ERA and starts here as he is 3-0 with a 1.02 ERA against Colorado, and allowed 1 run in the 6-3 win over them in May this year. However he has rejoined the rotation but believe the Rockies will get to him Washington @ 2.26 pinnacle Marquis is 8-4, with a 3.92 ERA as he has allowed 3 runs or less in 7 of his last 10 starts (total of 24 runs) with just 6 runs in his last 4 road starts. He is 5-3 with a 2.40 ERA against the Dodgers, and like him to do well here as his batters, who have been hitting well, should give him some run support. Billingsley is 8-8, with a 4.07 ERA as he has allowed at least 4 runs in 5 of his last 10 starts (total of 31 runs). However wth the Dodgers not hitting that well, and his lack of run support from his batters, like Marquis to contain them while his bats give him some runs to win the game. July picks: 36-42 (+3.77) June picks: 53-72 (-2.95) May picks: 31-73 (-30.18) April picks: 45-56 (+2.52)
