His team will derive much confidence from being 8-0 down yesterday to win the game, and this should see them in more positive mood to go out and give Lopez some run support. McDonald is 5-4, with a 4.40 ERA and has pitched well, allowing just 22 runs in his last 10 starts, including just 10 runs in his last 5 start. However he has only twice pitched past the 6th innings, and has allowed an average of 6 hits and 3 walks in these 10 games, so he does allow batters to get on base and like the Cubs to use some of their momentum from yesterday's game to get a win here. Washington -1.5 @ 2.58 pinnacle Lannan has allowed 3 runs or less in 7 of his last 10 starts, and 2 runs or less in 9 of his last 10 starts (total of 19 runs), and especially at home he has been very good where he has allowed just 8 runs in his last 6 home starts. Washington have won 15 of their last 19 games at home, and have averaged 5 runs per game, so like them to use last nights loss, where they gave up an 8-0 lead to lead the game, to spur them on to beat Hammel, who is 4-8, with a 4.31 ERA, and has allowed 4 runs or more in 3 of his last 4 games, while he has allowed 14 runs in his last 4 road games. The Rockies are not hitting that well, and with the Nationals having the better bats and pitcher here, like them to get the win.
