I was slow out of the blocks and missed the 10-1 on Nathaniel and didn't want to take the 3-1 with reports that it might not go for the St Leger. Gosden seems keen to take that route but they have a racing manager and he mentioned keeping Nathaniel in training next year and keeping it to 1m 4f for this season. I have taken 3 ante post so far but instead of taking them with bookies I have backed them all on Betfair with a view to laying them off later to lock in a profit. Brown Panther - Impressed me at Royal Ascot and I would expect it to head to Doncaster now. It seems to go on any ground so if it does end up on the soft side it would not concern me at all. I feel the form of that Ascot race will work out well, having backed Sud Pacifique twice before and thinking that was half decent but Brown Panther smashed them at Ascot and won going away. (9.2 taken Betfair) Fiorente - Ended up at the back of the field when they decided to cross over but clearly has no stamina issues as it came around the field and finished full of running. I didn't think Moore gave it a very good ride and a more prominent position would have been interesting. I can see a lot of Stoute's horses doing well towards the back end of the season, he doesn't seem to be firing on all cylinders at the moment and had a very quiet Ascot. (15.0 taken Betfair) Solar Sky - Looked a bit green at Ascot but pedigree is full of stamina and I can see this coming on a bundle for that last run. This horse, along with Namibian left the others behind toiling and it also took a bump late on. (25.0 taken Betfair) O'Brien has suggested Memphis Tennessee may head to Doncaster for the St Leger and it could turn out to be a very good race with a bit of luck. What are your early fancies and do you think if Nathaniel turns up it will run them ragged?

Re: St Leger 2011 - Ante Post Thread ive had a 2pt e.w bet on seville 12/1 paddy power.im not a big fan of nathaniel who only looks fair over 12f and lb for lb i think treasure beach is a better horse and of the front 3 i would rather be on treasure beach than brown panther or nathaniel and treasure beaches 150 on the clock is the best by far of those 3 . seville has kind of been lost in the wilderness ,showed so much potential last year and hasnt delivered but was disastrous in the derby recording a 0 on the clock and was written off by most but has flown out the wilderness to record a sudden 140 behing the ultra consistent treasure beach and it looks like seville just might be a bit slow to come to hand .....will probably come on for that last run and i can see this one finally delivering on his potential by winning the st leger later on . lots of others in with chances with sea moon potentially a big improver but for me at present the 12/1 on seville generous (corals are only going 6/1 !!) .another good performance between now and september could see his price plummit to around the 5-6/1 mark in which case would make a nice lay so lots of options
