Hi, im an absolute beginner when it comes to betting on horses. Ive been reading Braddocks guide to horse racing, and in it he recommends for flat racing, betting on class A to C maiden and condition races. Has the way races are classified changed since the printing of this book? Ive been looking for potential races and they seem to be classed in numbers (ie class 1, group 3) instead of letters like in the book. As you can tell i havent got a clue. Please help Thanks

Re: Class Yes is the short answer ! The classes now go from Class 1 (the best) to class 7 (the worst) Class 1 is further subdivided into Group One, Group Two, Group Three and Listed in that order
