blackcrow Posted June 3, 2011 Share Posted June 3, 2011 Western Force +7.5 @ 2.00 centrebet The Force were unlucky when they could not hang on to the lead last week against the Hurricanes and allowed 2 tries in the last 10 minutes to just lose the game. Believe they match up well with the Highlanders whose strength is at the breakdown and the Force have a very good back row who also do well in winning some quality ball. The Force also showed that they have the ability to attack when they have the ball and at times made the Hurricanes look very ordinary. Would not be surprised if they won this as the Highlanders were disappointing in losing to the Lions, and not sure that even the inclusion of Thomson will be able to lift them, as they been unimpressive and not played the same as they did earlier in the season Rebels +12.5 @ 2.02 centrebet Some pretty poor form by the Rebels who have lost their last 4 games by at least 15 points, but they are fresh off a bye, with no injnury concerns and generally play well in front of their home crowd. The Stormers beat the Brumbies and the Blues and have played pretty well and will look to this game as an easy one compared to the others. Expecting some sort of complacency in their game here as they will be looking to head back home after this game, and they may not be as focused as they have been in the other two games that they played on the road. With not much to play for, as they will miss the semi's, some of the players have very few chances left to impress for All Black selection, and expect their very good set of backs to shine here. With the pressure off, they can play a much more natural game with the ball in hand, and though the Lions defence has been good in patches, they have been inconsistent in their last 4 games. They beat the Highlanders by 4 and the Brumbies by 9, but lost to the Waratahs by 17 and the Cheetahs by 34 points, and if trends are anything to go by, they will lose heavily here. Also they will be looking to get back home after this game, as they have been away for a month, so their could be some tired bodies out there with other things on their mind. Blues -9.5 @ 2.04 centrebet Blues are looking to bounce back after losing their last 2 games, yet they still top the NZ group. Like the Chiefs they will have a chance to regroup after both had the bye, but feel the Blues have much more to play for, as the Chiefs have been inconsistent this year, and may not be as focused for this game as the Blues. The Blues have also won their last 2 games in Auckland against the Chiefs, by 10 and 18 points, while winning 10 of 16 overall. Reds -16.5 @ 1.98 centrebet Reds can go into this game much more relaxed having already sown up top spot in the Australian group. They can now focus on winning their last 2 games which will probably see them get top spot and a home run through the finals. The Brumbies side has looked out of sorts this season, and some of their players have not stepped up, or are not good enough to get the team into the top half of the table. While they have drawn once and lost 4 of their last 5 games, and with each of these losses by no more than 15 points, this is now their far biggest test considering that the Reds will be on a high after their massive win over the Crusaders last week in front of their home crowd, and now they get another opportunity to showcase their talents there.
