The thing is though it is still quite a way to the center and is in a quiet area (they usually have business congresses around there). Teaulc's suggestion doesnt look too good tbh. If you're on a budget and want to be closer to the center I'd suggest looking at http://www.omenahotels.com/ and in particular the ones on Yrjönkatu or Lönnrotinkatu. These are new "all automatic" hotels (no reception). In the Katajanokka area (close to the Scandic Marina hotel) is an intersting one: The Best Western Katajanokka is new and is located in an old jail. It looks great and offers a Prison Break experience :) It's available for GBP 134 for 2 nights at Otel.com On the same site the best deals for centrally located hotels are for Hotel Glo and Hotel Marski which are right in the center. I believe I'd choose Glo if it were for me. The deal Morls found is a good one btw. Not knowing exactly yet what will be the plan makes it harder to recommend a place. I cant comment on the hotel as not been there but (like Fred) if i was staying in that part of town I would for sure take the Best Western in the jail - if nothing else its unique and the food is luxury quality so I expect the same of the rooms. But, honestly I'd consider looking for something actually in the city centre. Easier to move around from there than where this place is .......
