  1. Re: Champions League Tue 11th

Are you sure that Liverpool qualify by draw ??
From BBC website:- Put simply, if Liverpool beat Marseille in their final group game then they will definitely go through. If they lose they will definitely go out. Complications arise should Liverpool and Marseille draw. Marseille beat Liverpool at Anfield earlier in the campaign, meaning they would edge the Reds out on the basis of that result, assuming Porto beat or draw with Besiktas in the group's other match. But if Liverpool and Marseille draw and Besiktas pull off a shock by beating Porto, the Reds would go through. In this scenario, Liverpool, Marseille and Porto would all be on eight points. Liverpool would go through with the best goal difference in the head-to-head matches between the three teams.
  2. Re: Next England Manager?

sorry boyd, but mourinho is talking to england....:eek http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/internationals/7116283.stm
Yeah i had read that article but Mourinho agreeing to talk to the F.A. doesn't mean the F.A. and Mourinho will agree everything that he will take over, hence why many people are still betting on other managers on Betfair etc. My point was that at 180/1 for Schuster, if the F.A. apparently want to speak to him is true is worth a couple of quid. I'd be happy to lose a couple of quid if Mourinho was the one to take over but i've just taken it as a long shot.
  3. Re: Next England Manager? Just finished watching Revista De La Liga (Spanish leagues' Match of the Day) and the two presenters claim that Mourinho is 90% certain to take the Real Madrid job next season, and it is this that he is waiting for not the England job. Then the presenters went on to say that the rumours in Spain were the F.A. have spoken to Bernd Schuster about him taking the England job and with the Mourinho rumours in Madrid making him have low security of a job next season he may jump ship now and take the England job, which would probably result in Mourinho taking over at Madrid. Anyway i've had a small punt on Schuster just in case any of these rumours are true at 180/1 at Betfair.

  4. Re: Champions League - 28th November Liverpool are now basically in a knockout situation in this years champions league after their poor start to the group. However, this is what i feel brings the best out of Liverpool and Benitez when it is a knockout situation. Porto have a very poor record in England, they have lost eight of their last nine. With the Anfield crowd getting behind the team i think they will have too much for Portos' defence. Liverpool have started to create many goal scoring chances in there last few games, they could have had at least seven at Newcastle at the weekend while being solid in defence restricting Newcastle to no shots on target and no corners. My bet is a home win for Liverpool. GL all

  5. Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers - Weds 21st Nov I don't think there will be too many goals in tonights match and personally can't see Croatia winning at Wembley, but i definitely wouldn't rule out the draw. I am going to back on the half time/ full time - England/draw @14/1. Over the last few years England have been strong starters at home and may go into the break a goal up, but then may look to settle for that and concede in the second half as they try to hold onto what they have if they are leading. Also, as England have been strong in defence at home during the campaign i will have a couple of small bets on the correct score for England victories 1-0 and 2-0. Bets: England/draw England 1-0 England 2-0

  6. Re: Champions League Wednesday 07 Nov

Taken from the Skysports website on the arsenal game; Arsene Wenger's men blew the Czech side away last time round; however after two draining clashes against Liverpool and Manchester United, the Frenchman has opted to shuffle his pack. A quartet of stars have been left behind in North London, with Wenger wary that a draw will be enough to see them through to the knock-out stages. Alexander Hleb and Cesc Fabregas are both rested after making 29 starts between them so far this season, while Kolo Toure (calf) and Tomas Rosicky (groin) are carrying minor knocks. Im still not sure what bet to do on this game
Well i think Arsene Wenger would have seen enough last time the teams played to have confidence in his side winning even without Fabregas and Hleb being rested. Arsenal have enough quality players in their squad to replace these with the likes of Gilberto, Denilson and Walcott. After what Wenger would have seen from last time i don't think him or any of his players will have any fears, if there is going to be any fear it will surely be the Czechs fearing Arsenal. I remember Wenger saying after the last Champions League game that he wants to make sure they win the group to avoid a second round game against the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Milan. With this in mind a win tonight for Arsenal, and with Arsenal surely going to win their last group game at home to Steaua, a win would give Arsenal the security of being to lose at Sevilla by two goals to still top the group on head to head records. My pick is Arsenal to win as Wenger will want to win the group as soon as possible.
  7. Re: Champions League 23rd/24th October Agree with the Benfica tip many people are looking to back due to Celtics' atrocious away form in Europe, plus the injuries Celtic have. My other main tip that nobody has mentioned is PSV at home to Fenerbahce. PSV need a win to overtake Fenerbahce in the group and to stand a greater chance of qualifying need to win their home games. PSV have a 100% record at home in the Dutch league and have beaten CSKA Moscow at home in the Champs Lge already, while Fenerbahce haven't won away in four games in the Turkish league and were fortunate to grab an away point to CSKA in this years Champs Lge. I definitely think there is great value in a home win with odds of 1.88. GL with your bets.

  8. Re: CL semis 24-25/4 (1st leg) I fancy Man United on the half time/full time to be winning both. Milan are not what the team they were a few years ago. They lost Shevchenko and have finally replaced him with Ronaldo who is ineligible. Milans' defence is getting on a bit, and lacking pace apart from Nesta. He will be pre-occupied with Rooney, leaving Ronaldo to exploit the rest of the defence with his pace and trickery. I don't feel it will be anywhere near as convincing as Roma but United will look to fly out of the traps and put Milan under pressure to take a lead to Milan. I'm expecting a fairly early goal for United, as they have done in many games this season. It may also be worth covering the bet with draw/ Man United too Selection - United to be winning at half time and full time.

  9. Re: UNDER 2.5 goals using previous results

Boyd when you say go to the western football section' date=' click on series B, then click on the Napoli v Bari game, where do I find the western football section? Is it on a particular website for example? Thanks. :)[/quote'] I meant on this punterslounge website. From the homepage, where it says go to Western European Football. From there just go to the league that the teams are in, hence Italy Serie B for that Napoli, then you should be able to click on that game, and onto the drop down menu from that related betting to get a whole range of different bets. Just click on under/over or whatever else you are interested in betting on. Hope this helps.
  10. Re: UNDER 2.5 goals using previous results

I meant to ask and if anyone can help me on this question' date=' I would appreciate it very much. What sportsbook offers a customer the opportunity to wager under the total of 2.5 goals on this match (Bari & Napoli) and also the opportunity to wager on the exact score of 2-1 for the home team as well? I have checked with [b']Bet365 and they do not have the 2.5 over-under odds posted yet and Pinnacle only have an over-under of 2 goals posted. Can someone answer this question? :ok
Silly and black, if you go to the western football section, click on Serie B, then click on the Napoli v Bari game. Click on the drop down menu that says related events and then click on the under/over. It then brings up all the bookies prices. Some only offer under 2, but others offer the under 2.5. BETDAQ currently give the best odds on under 2.5 though. Good luck with your bet.
  11. Re: Champions League - Wednesday 6th Dec Re xodale: Both Arsenal and Porto have not qualified but if it is a draw then both guarenteed to qualify. This is the reason for bookies short odds on the draw as they feel both will settle for draw. It is a similar situation in a recent international tournament where Sweden and Denmark drew to knock Italy(?, i think) out. Therefore, i am going for a draw between Porto and Arsenal.
