Not sure if things can turn for Crystal Palace
7 matches, 7 losses, 17 goals conceded
On their way to be the worst performance in EPL since Derby County 10 years ago

Right now they are playing with a monkey on their back.Gifted away another goal.It will be difficult for them.Week 5 and they haven't scored yet
Indeed. I will probably skip matches involving this team for the time being

Disappointing first half by Crystal Palace
Thought they playing a more attacking 4-3-3 formation
-
Liverpool vs Burnley
I am not too sure if the current -1.75 hdp for Liverpool is justifiable ?
Sure, Liverpool scored 5 and conceded 0 in their 2 home league matches, but Burnley is not doing that badly as well. A shocker 2-3 win against Chelsea and 1-1 draw against Tottenham. Liverpool's Mane is also suspended as well.

Crystal Palace vs Southampton
Worrying sign for Crystal Palace as they have yet to net a goal in their 4 league matches. Plus I think some players are not available ? (Zaha, Sako etc.). Southampton aren't really doing that fantastic, netting all 3 goals in 1 match and none in the other 3 matches.
Looking at the EPL fixtures, Palace is to face Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea, Newcastle. Surely Roy knows today's 3-point is a must-grab for the team in order to proceed on well into the season. Hopefully, with a new manager means a new prospect for the team.
Another of my emotional pick for the day - Palace to score 1st, based on the potential underlying motivation

Surely nobody will be backing west ham at 1.7? United will lose a game soon enough and it wouldn't surprise me if it was this week away at Stoke.
Worst season opening for West Ham since 2010-11 season (that season they lose 4 openers and relegated eventually)
I haven't been watching their matches or keeping track of their squad this season, but conceding 10 goals in 3 league matches probably signals defensive issues.

Poor start for Crystal Palace under Frank de Boer and this matchweek they will be visiting a fortress, Turf Moof.
They only won 3 times at Turf Moof based on H2H statistics.
Previously they also managed 3 straight league match losses for 2012-13 season (interesting, the same season they won the play-offs for promotion to EPL)
Not sure how things will develop here.

Looks like a frustrating start of the season for Brentford
Interestingly, their current league performance matches with the one back in 2010-11 season...
That season, they lost their 1st 2 league matches, drew their 3rd, lost their 4th and recorded their 1st win in their 5th league match
Same scenario as this season
-
Purely based on historical results...
Newcastle
They have not lost consecutive 3 opening league matches of the season since 1999
They have not lost their 3rd league match of the season since 2008
2016-17 season saw a similar streak, losing their 1st 2 league matches of the season before a win in their 3rd league match
West Ham
They have not lost consecutive 3 opening league matches of the season since 2010 (they relegated that season as well)

Manchester City looks like a joke now after splashing so much money. But still, only the 2nd matchweek and we shall see how things unfold itself
Will Pep Guardiola once again prove himself that he can only lead ultra-star teams, we shall see for this season.

Burnley vs West Brom
Perhaps I am overlooking something here. Both sides have seen plenty of goals in recent years when they meet: In the last 2 seasons, their 4 encounters produced 16 goals in total. And if we look further back, the 2 FA Cup matches back in 2009 produced 8 goals in total.
I believe the market now is over/under 2...Surprising given their records, so I must have been overlooking something here ?

Somebody said they were a big fan of backing bogey teams... well, Stoke against Arsenal is one of those prime examples!
May be a potential banana skin. I will probably skip this one and look at other matches instead.

Just curious if it is a straightforward overs for Brentford-Nottingham match ?
H2H statistics shows quite a number of goals between both sides when they meet
-
Hmm...
Everton has drawn their last 4 season's opening match
Stoke 6 consecutive under 2.5 from their last 6 season's opening match
Unclear what impact will Rooney has on the Everton but considering Stoke's dodgy performance, I am inclined towards the statistics as above and pick under 2.5 for this match
-
Trivia - Chelsea have not lost their season's opening match since 1998
-
My eyes on Liverpool slipping...Hahaha

Expect both teams, Crystal Palace and Hull, to go all out today in a relegation match both teams must win today (both teams will meet Man Utd and Spurs respectively in their last match)
Palace home stats - 5W 2D 11L, 20 scored 25 conceded
Hull away stats - 1W 3D 14L, 9 scored 41 conceded
Looks like easy win for Palace given Hull's weak away form ? Can't be sure, but I shall go with over 2.5 in anticipation of both sides all out attack to win this critical match.
-
Interesting to see whether West Brom can stop Chelsea tonight and keep the title race dragging on to the last matchweek
Chelsea's away EPL stats - 12W 3D 3L, 29 scored 16 conceded
WBA's home EPL stats - 9W 2D 7L, 27 scored 21 conceded
Since WBA's return to EPL in 2010/11 season, both sides have met 13 times and Chelsea won 7 times, but only 2 of the wins were at Hawthorns
Pulis's recent records against Chelsea
With WBA - P4, 1W 1D 2L (both losses by 1 goal margin)
With Crystal Palace - P2, 1W 1L (lose by 1 goal margin)
With Stoke City - P11, 0W 2D 9L

Can Arsenal win ? Seems that they still have chance to get into top 4
They only played 33 matches, still have 5 matches to go (maximum 15 points)
Looking back at the past 6 seasons, at current stage Arsenal is at either 3rd or 4th position. Today they are at 6th.
What is worrying is at the final third of the season (last 12 matches) for the past 6 seasons, Arsenal was able to maintain consistency in form, but this 2016-17 season has been the opposite as Arsenal did better in the first 12 matches. They have already lost 4 matches since matchweek 26 - They never lose more than 3 out of the final 12 matches for the past 6 seasons.
Under Arsene Wenger, they have never ever lost more than 3 out of the final 12 matches except on the season when he took over (1996-97)
Probably the closest comparison is from 2013-14 season where the team was shaky from matchweek 26 to 33 (DWLWLDDL) before recording 5 wins out of 5. But having said that, they were already in top 4 positions by then.
-
Spurs have been exceptionally strong at home this season. 43 goals and only 8 conceded.
Arsenal away form, 32 scored and 25 conceded
Over 3 for me
-
I give up on this set of matches
-
Interestingly, Metz next 3 matches are with teams positioned nearby (Lorient, Nancy, Lille). Not too sure if they will forgo this match with PSG and concentrate on the next 3 upcoming ones instead.
Metz home so-so, 6W 6D 4L, though losses were of scorelines 0-3, 0-7, 2-4 and 0-3 respectively
PSG strong form, unbeaten in last 6 matches, and unbeaten in last 7 away Ligue 1 matches
Historical stats wise, Metz home against PSG the one and only match that has 3 goals difference was way back in 1995

Really wonders if Crystal Palace will finally score a goal here or will Roy decides to play park bus
Burnley vs West Ham -- Home team has been good this season so far, looks promising for Burnley to win here, but probably a small win.
