  1. Re: Somerset's Tips

Two today Singles, roll up and the dreaded double. It is a great time of the year to be backing 3yr olds in open handicaps and shrewd trainers can take advantage of the handy 11lb pull. Deise Hope in the 4-25 Galway who was beaten just 3/4lth by Galistic five days ago now gets a 5lb buffer and has shown at home she is ready for her first win. 6/1 boyles Toffee Vodka 6-55 Epsom is also knocking on the door for her first win on turf, she has won twice at Lingfield and for those who follow systems she has won in August in 2004, 2005 and hopefully 2006 will complete the hatrick. They have dropped her to this class 5 from a Wolverhampton class 3 and they think it will do the trick. 13/2 Stan James
Galistic beat Deise Hope again. Galistic won and the tip was 4th. Toffee Vodka was 5th.
  2. Re: Slapdash systems 2006

3.05 Newton Abbot Countrywide Belle (8/1 Stan James) 10 points EW. Each way system. The favourite is around even money. We're getting 2.60 for the place, compared to a lay price of 2.28 on Betfair, with the Betfair win price only slightly higher at 9.20.
    Finished 3rd: Well done again!:clap
  3. Re: Where's Spencer? From the BBC: Jamie Spencer's hopes of defending his champion jockey title have taken a massive blow after he was hit by a 16-day suspension. Spencer has been served with the ban - three days of which are deferred - under the Horseracing Regulatory Authority's totting up procedure. He was found guilty of careless riding on Garafena at Newmarket last week. Spencer will now miss next week's King George meeting at Ascot as well as Glorious Goodwood. He is banned from 28 July to 9 August inclusive with the three other days deferred until October. The matter was referred to the HRA following an adjourned inquiry at Newmarket on Thursday because Spencer, who trails Ryan Moore in the 2006 standings, had been suspended from riding for 20 days for interference within the previous 12 months. He was handed an automatic 14-day ban plus an extra two days for the Garafena offence.

  4. Re: Dumb Placepot Question It's similar in some respects ie you need a horse to be placed in all 6 races. However with a placepot, you can choose more than one horse per race. Secondly, the final payout is not determined by the odds of your horses like an accumulator would be. The payout is done by the Tote, based on amount of money staked across the country on placepots divided by the number of winning tickets. So, if you have 6 horses all placed at 25/1, but all the races were won by odds on favourites, you'd get a really low payout.

  5. Re: Correct Score System

Been testing this out over the past few days with positive results so will start posting my selections here to see how they get on. Russian Premier League :- Rostov v Spartak Nalchik System Bet Spartak Nalchik to win 1-0 @ 8.50 Sporting Odds Stake - 2.33 Spartak Nalchik to win 2-0 @ 13.00 Sporting Odds Stake - 1.52 Spartak Nalchik to win 3-0 @ 41.00 Ladbrokes Stake - 0.48 Spartak Nalchik to win 2-1 @ 11.00 Ladbrokes Stake - 1.80 Spartak Nalchik to win 3-1 @ 34.00 Ladbrokes Stake - 0.58 Spartak Nalchik to Draw 1-1 @ 6.00 Sporting Odds Stake - 3.29 Total Stakes :- 10.01 Guaranteed Return :- 19.76 Profit/Loss :- The System Bet works by using 10pts as your main stake which you then split between the different Correct Score Selections so that no matter which Correct Score is successful the payout is always the same.
This is very similar to Rockshark's Big 5 theory. Neither of you have told us how you are selecting the matches to bet on, though!
