  1. Re: BBOTD > Saturday April 19th 5.15 Nottingham Burtonwood 5/6 Stan James BOG At this time of year experience is a huge advantage and Burtonwood who was well backed and only beaten a nose at Leicester lto is poised to take full advantage of that. The stable is in better form too. 1 Point win for nap purposes Burtonwood 5/6 Stan James BOG

  2. Re: National Hunt Racing > Tuesday April 15th 3.50 Kempton Act Alone 10/11 BetVictor BOG No matter what way you look at it, Act Alone was very disappointing the last day at Market Rasen but on his previous run at Doncaster he looks a certainty. The better ground and extra distance should play to his strengths and the opposition here are no better than the ones he faced lto or indeed at Doncaster. 10 Points win Act Alone 10/11 BetVictor BOG

  4. 7.35 Tramore Cloudy Rock 11/8 BetVictor BOG
Cloudy Rock was a very impressive winner of her only point to point prior to making her debut at Thurles. Backed off the boards in a better race she raced freely, got stuck in the mud and was beaten before the straight. I expect her to leave that form well behind on this better ground, tighter track and against this lesser opposition. She is a lot better than she showed the last day and will not just win but will win well.
10 Points win Cloudy Rock 11/8 BetVictor BOG

  6. Re: Flat Racing > Sunday April 13th 5.35 Curragh Adjusted 13/8 Stan James BOG With the Oxx horse disappointing badly lto and the stable out of form and the very bad record of the Weld stable here the way is left clear for Adjusted who was runner up to Fascinating Rock under 2 weeks ago at Leopardstown. Fascinating Rock won well at Navan yesterday and Adjusted will come on a lot for his run the last day. O' Brien has a very good record in this race winning it 6 times in 11 years. 10 Points win Adjusted 13/8 Stan James BOG

3.55 Curragh Cristoforo Colombo 10/3 BetVictor BOG
Cristoro Colombo was a disappointment last year after finishing 5th to Dawn Approach at Newmarket in the Guineas only winning a listed race at Dundalk. On his 2yo form he should have won the group 1 Heinz here finishing on the floor after his stupid jockey tried to play jockey. His best is better than the ability of the others so only fitness remains an issue. The stable though had a couple of winners at Navan and will be keen to win here to boost the horse's confidence.
10 Points win Cristoforo Colombo 10/3 BetVictor BOG
    4.25 Curragh Parish Hall 9/2 Bet365 BOG
This is a 2 horse race between Parish Hall and Alive Alive Oh. Alive Alive Oh looked good twice at the start of the season winning on easy ground but then flopped when tried here in a group 2. Parish Hall beat Inis Meain in this last year and kept the highest company afterwards except when dropped in class when winning a group 3 at Dundalk. With the stable in form and having achieved a higher level than Alive Alive Oh he is the selection.
    5 Points e/w Parish Hall 9/2 Bet365 BOG

  9. Re: National Hunt Racing > Saturday April 12th 2.05 Ayr Eduard 2/1 Paddy Power BOG The is no doubting that Valdez has achieved more than any of these over fences and if right will win. But over the years I have seen horses run at Cheltenham only to come here and run poorly. I think Cheltenham will have left its mark on him and therefore Eduard who is much fresher and progressive has to be the selection. 10 Points win Eduard 2/1 Paddy Power BOG 2.30 Bangor Kings Grace 7/4 Coral BOG Although giving weight all round Kings Grace who won over this course and distance looks very solid here especially with huge question marks over all of his rivals today. 10 Points win Kings Grace 7/4 Coral BOG 5.55 Bangor Hows My Friend 9/4 BetFred BOG Hows My Friend was a good 2nd to Coombe Hill last week at Wincanton and that form should be good enough against moderate rivals although that said Bush will have to get her finger out and lay up a bit closer this time. 10 Points win Hows My Friend 9/4 BetFred BOG

2.55 Newbury Kingman 2/1 BetVictor BOG
Although it is dangerous to assume that each horse has progressed in the same way from 2 to 3 there is no denying that Kingman was probably the best of these at 2. His stable has hit form this week too which is exactly what you want when backing a horse. I think he will win here although the Hannon horse is respected as he is also unbeaten and his stable's record in this in the last 7 years reads 4/7.
10 Points Kingman 2/1 BetVictor BOG
    5.15 Navan Gorteo 13/8 Bet365 BOG
Gorteo was 4th to Australia in a Curragh maiden that has worked out very well before finishing 2nd beaten 0.5 lengths by Terrific again at the Curragh when favourite. Her form is miles better than the others here and should win. Palace ran ok in an average maiden at Leopardstown last week but does not look good enough.
10 Points win Gorteo 13/8 BetVictor BOG

  12. Re: National Hunt Racing > Friday April 11th 4.50 Wexford Painted Lady 3/1 Paddy Power BOG Painted Lady has been consistant wirhout winning and although a bit disappointing lto at Navan her seconds to Back Before Dawn at Leopardstown and Le Vent D'antan at Navan are a good way ahead of anything the opposition have achieved. Should win today. 10 Points win Painted Lady 3/1 Paddy Power BOG

    5.45 Towcester Border Breaker 6/4 Bet365 BOG
Considering the lofty opinion connections have of him, Border Breaker was disappointing the last day when only 4th but beaten just over 2lengths behind Destiny's Gold at Huntington. The betting told the story that day. Today he will be sharper and will have no excuses. I expect him to win.

2.10 Nottingham Act Of War 7/4 Paddy Power BOG
Act Of War was second in an Ascot maiden over 7f last September staying on well behind the Brittain trained Slealth Missile. That was a good run and up to 1m today he should take all the beating although he is likely to need much further over time. Fast Delivery started favourite for a Doncaster maiden finishing 4th, however experience has thought me that this is way too early for Bin Suroors horses and he is readily dismissed though he does well at this track.
10 Points win Act Of War 7/4 Paddy Power BOG

4.05 Southwell Right Of Appeal 6/5 Paddy Power BOG
A typical Johnston 3yo who was unsighted in 3 runs and 2 and then bolts up on his handicap debut over todays distance. That was in January and while he has not been seen since he has more potential than Libeccio. Although some of Johnstons have been beaten lately he normally farms the races around here.
