  6. Re: If this loses I QUIT just found this thread an will chuck in my thoughts 1) the odds on sven being sacked before the end of the tournement are good - once England go out, the FA will have to organise a meeting and then work out a financial package to get rid of sven before actuially meeting up with him and THEN dismissing him.. 2) england wont win it due to the midfield imbalance, lack of depth and overall poorness of the team (how many teams have won the world cup after losing to northern ireland?). i agree with the notion of dropping the overrated beckam and placing gerard in the right side position which has made Li verpool look a diffenrent side to the one that started the league season. the real problem is finding that true midfield balance - perhaps carrick or parker to replace the gap made by gerards move out wide but, for me, cole does not suit the left hand side with the quality needed at this level. up front now owen has broken his toe, the real exposure of a lack of depth in scoring ability is shown. Who will partner the truely world class Rooney? Barring injuries, defensively, England look quite good but will be a team involved in low scoring (and thus unattractive games) which will fuel the mass hatred of the man (despite the proability that no english man could really do much better with the current players). 3) the people at the FA are business men whose 1st priority is their own job, reputation and pay - english football comes second to this. Sacking sven will take the pressure of them to do so and will result in positive feelings for euro 2008. I'm doing small bets on france, germany and italy at the moment due to the 'europe win in europe' factor. Fools - fantastic stats surrounding the 15/18 finalists being those mentioned. patriotism is your conviction that this country is superior to all others because you were born in it - George Bernard Shaw.

  7. 2006 - 365 days of guaranteed profit. When Jan 1st 2007 comes, many things will have changed in all our lives. But I want this thread to be the one thing that we all have in common. I've started putting a thread up on the UK football forums for a guarenteed bet each weekend - but we can go much further than this. The common belief around this whole site seems to be that the only real way to make a profit is slowly with small odds, lots of patience and picking the right games. Although the football threads are packed with people with great knowledge about the football, the amount of knowledge in this thread is spread over many sports. From the rugby to the snooker, from minor sports to non-sports, there is enough quality here in order to aim for a thread where EVERY TIP WILL WIN. I've put the thread here as I want to involve people from all sporting interests and will point people from the football threads here too. Now, I know that may seem like that is asking a lot but is it? We can all produce at least a few GUARENTEED WINNING bets throughout the year (not the bets we are sure on but the bets that we really would stick a grand on). Put all these bets together and we should be able to collectively end the year with a nice profit from this thread. I really don't care whether at the end of the year, we had 5 winning bets out of 5 or 500 winning bets out of 500 - so long as the thread finishes in profit. Reality says that we are likely to lose a couple at least, so make sure that you would be prepared to put £1000 of your own money on anything that you tip here and if there is a losing bet, I don't want to see anybody making negative comments. Suggested format for bets would be; Name of Sport Match & Date/Time Believed outcome/type of bet Odds & Bookmaker Reason why this bet is a guarenteed winner (make the explanation easy to read for people who may not foolow the chosen sport) Don't worry whether the odds are 1/100 or 100/1 - the only thing that matters is that it'll win. This thread is about the long-haul. I'll try and keep a track record of the bets/bank throughout the year, if this thread takes off. For the thread purpose only, I'll use a starting bank of 1000 points and all bets will be 50pts. Feel free to make any comments/suggestions and :hope to all who tip here! :cheers

  12. all bets will be with bet365 for ease. I won't go over the reasons for picks due to time constraints, but am interested in the comparison and profitability. It has been documented many times that the sure way of profit is to build slow - these systems should fit the bill if patience is maintained and picks are good :unsure Starting bank for both methods will be 500pts Target will be 1000pts Each bet will be 10 pts

  13. Re: Straight Win or Each Way? Cheers people! :ok seems like pretty good rationale all round and I was able to follow it all. Also interesting to find very quickly that the different systems are favoured by different people. But added to this is the aspect of when they become more appealing than the other style. I can identify with the safety of the e/w but it's about learning when to just go for it. Also agree with the bet on two horses tactic as I do this for the national. :cheers I will always remain a casual bettor on the horses as football is my first betting love but I want to be able to bet in a more educated manner and, if I'd kept records, I'm almost 100% certain I'd be any bookies friend when I start looking at the horses - hopefully I can begin to change this around!
