  1. Re: 2006 - 365 days of guaranteed profit There is no limit to the number of posts - I just hope that the bets posted can reflect quality and not be comprimised by placing 'any' bet. I am quite surprised by how many bets have already been placed under the category of 'I would place a £1000 on it' (especially considering as its only been running for less than 72 hours). There are numerous threads that can accomodate thoughts and possible bets on all sports and matches but I want this thread to reflect the bets that WILL NOT LOSE. Cheers for your interest maximus77 but just remember that any bet posted here will potentially have a lot of people putting their money on your advice - it feels good to be right, but always think of the people who may lose money if the bet does not come up.

  2. Re: 2006 - 365 days of guaranteed profit

Selections seem to be doign well so far, so here's one from me Name of Sport = Tennis Match, Date and time = ASB Open, 4th Jan Outcome/Type of bet = Petrova to bt Dushevnia Odds /Bookies 1.25 @ Betfair Reason = Red hot championship favourite, playing well in 2nd round match against lesser player, world ranking gap is large, value pick
:okfoolsgold Bet No. 11 see above :hope Start bank - 1000 No. of bets - 11 Won - 5 Lost - 1 Outstanding - 5 New Bank = 796 Bets Outstanding 1 - Penn state -10 to beat florida state 8 - Tim Henman to beat Tommy Haas 9 - Sunderland to finish bottom of the premier league 10 - Chelsea to win the Premier League 11 - Petrova to bt Dushevnia
  3. Re: 2006 - 365 days of guaranteed profit

Yes it's essential people really believe it's a certainty type bet rather than, what's the next football game on TV?, I'll have a bet on this etc One potential problem I forsee mate, and that is... What if I were to put a bet of T Haas to beat T Henman? I think it's probable that 2 people put up different halves of the coin so to speak and you'll end up losing overall. Just trying to help, not interfere. DC
It's a very valid point Danny. I would like to think that the scenario would not arise, but there is a certain chance it will especially in sports such as Tennis, where there are only two outcomes. For the purpose of the the thread, I'll only use the first bet that is posted. The 'next game on tv'/ 'bet each day' factors are certainly a risk for the thread, which is why I ask people to write up a rationale for their bet. Although I will do each bet for the thread, I hope people will use this rationale in order to judge for themselves whether to follow the bet. It's good to have so many people discussing the pros and cons of this thread as well as the betting side - it can only help us maximize the potential for a profit:ok
  4. Re: 2006 - 365 days of guaranteed profit

Nice idea Aliando, must admit i thought the majority of bets you were looking for would be like the Phil Taylor darts bet, near certainties. Some of the prices and bets being quoted will undoubtedly include many losers in the long term and possibly waste all the profits from the so called guarenteed winners. like i said nice idea in the first post, not sure if its turning out the way you expected, or have i got it wrong.
spot on with everything mate! :ok
  5. Re: 2006 - 365 days of guaranteed profit

I agree, although I have done Rooney to score anytime I wouldnt put a grand on it. and Aliando wants a guaranteed outcome. eg,Sunderland to be relagated 1/1000 at bet365.
message 53 - daftpegasus - sunderland to finish bottom - bet 9 these are the types of bets I mean, though - those that would take something close to a miracle for them to not happen, rather than those with a decent chance.
  6. Re: 2006 - 365 days of guaranteed profit 1

Well said aliando...Good chap,,and now for my next bet. Name of Sport = Football Match, Date and time = Arsenal v Man utd, 3rd jan, 20.00 Outcome/Type of bet = Van Nistleroy to score/ Rooney to score. Odds /Bookies = Van Nistleroy 2.86 @ Betfair 25pts Rooney 3.3 @ Betfair 25pts Reason = Two prolific Goalscorers and only needing one of these two players to score in the 90 minutes to show a profit, a bonus if they both score.
Bets are single bets of 50 points and we are looking for a GUARANTEED WINNER. maximums77 - I have to ask - would you really put a grand on this? I can see what you're betting on, but if this is to be added, it needs to be a single bet (ie either Rooney or van N. to score).
  7. Re: 2006 - 365 days of guaranteed profit

Paddy Power are' date=' according to Oddschecker, doing 1/33 on Chelsea to win the Prem. I realise the odds are abysmal, but it's surely the biggest certainty of the year?[/quote'] :okJaded Bet No. 10 Football; Premier League Chelsea to win the Premier League Paddy Power 1/33 :hope Start bank - 1000 No. of bets - 10 Won - 5 Lost - 1 Outstanding - 4 New Bank = 846 Bets Outstanding 1 - Penn state -10 to beat florida state 8 - Tim Henman to beat Tommy Haas 9 - Sunderland to finish bottom of the premier league 10 - Chelsea to win the Premier League
  8. Re: 2006 - 365 days of guaranteed profit

aliando' date='great thread but i am sure you are going to be very busy working everything out, maybe it might be a good idea to limit the bets people put on your thread " just a thought".[/quote'] it's already being a lot of work but hopefully it'll pay off. as for limiting people's bets - I'm looking as this as everybody's thread. I may've started it but it'll be everyone putting work in to make it a success. I'm hoping that everyone who posts here will have done the homework on their selections and have the confidence in them - by restricting people to a certain number of bets may put pressure on people to decide which ones to post. I would prefer the whole concentration to go into getting the pick right! What do other people think? There will be times when I won't be here and so will have to update the thread on my return but I'm happy to do this if the thread is proving successful.
  9. Re: 2006 - 365 days of guaranteed profit

Good Thread. Surely Sunderland to finish rock bottom 1.12 on Betfair is a must win bet, or am I, as a Newcastle fan, letting my heart rule my head? :cheers Over half way through the season and they are 10 points behind 19th position and a goal difference 9 worse than 19th. DP
:okdaftpegasus Bet No. 9 Football; Premier League Sunderland to finish bottom Betfair 1.12 :hope Start bank - 1000 No. of bets - 9 Won - 5 Lost - 1 Outstanding - 3 New Bank = 896 Bets Outstanding 1 - Penn state -10 to beat florida state 8 - Tim Henman to beat Tommy Haas Today 13:32 9 - Sunderland to finish bottom of the premier league

The reality of getting 100% strike rate over the year is unlikely but it is the aim (or at least to get as close as possible). Nobody wants to be the person to get the first one wrong - don't feel bad mate. Cheers for the interest :ok

  13. Re: 2006 - 365 days of guaranteed profit time for an update. HV71 beat Brynas 4-1 :clapBamse81 Phil Taylor bet Peter Manley :clap Carl (and as you say a win is a win - that is what this thread is about:ok) The Rat - unlucky, mate. The >15.5 180's in the darts is added as its posted (bet #6). Anything that is posted here is added to the list - if its suppossed to be a thought/discussion it needs to be in the relevant thread. I will update the thread when around but bets cannot be taken back once posted. Slapdash - I would say that if you would be prepared to place £1000 of your own money on an event, you must feel it is as close to guaranteed as possible. Ralphie :ok cheers mate! Bet # 7 - Harmony Brigg updated bank to follow.

  14. Re: 2006 - 365 days of guarenteed profit

SPORT = Football. MATCH, DATE/TIME = Gretna v Ayr Utd, 2nd Jan 06, 15.00hrs. OUTCOME = Over 2.5 goals. ODDS = 1.43 @ Betfair REASON = Gretna last six homes =22 goals whilst Ayr last six away games 26 goals STAKING 50PTS, would return 21.50pts profit less commision.

  15. Re: 2006 - 365 days of guaranteed profit

OK, my turn.. This is an "other sports" sport so I´m doing this by the book ;) Sport: Hockey (Sweden) Event: HV71 - Brynäs Pick: HV71 Odds: 1.31 parbet Reason: Cant see Brynäs taking this conidering their terrible record this season. Brynäs have 2-13 (1-8 and 1-5) in the last two games and HV71 at the top of the table. The two mutuals this season have ended 4-1 and 2-1 to HV71. In the last game for HV71 they beat Leksand easily 5-1 and in my mind theyre better than Brynäs atm. For the ones who would like to read more theres my summary of the season so far www.punterslounge.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22037
    :ok Bamse81 :hope start bank = 1000 no. of bets = 5 won = 1 lost = 0 outstanding = 4 new bank = 845 Bets outstanding 1 - Penn State -10 to beat Florida State 3 - Gretna v Ayr Utd Over 2.5 goals 4 - Phil Taylor to beat Peter Manley 5 - HV71 to beat Brynas
  16. Re: 2006 - 365 days of guarenteed profit

Chelsea 5 - 2 West Ham on corners.
