    Incredibly sad news.
Was lucky enough to meet up with Mark & Donna a couple of times on PL weekends in Coventry & Brum, but of course already felt like I knew them really well via the forum already.
Mark & I chatted endlessly about poker, he loved talking poker, all aspects of poker, be it discussing overview strategy, tournament selection, rebuy tactics or best ways to deal with tricky hands or situations arising during a game.
To define his talent by a single tournament would be doing him an incredible injustice, but I for one will never forget how he qualified for WPT National in Newcastle and then converted that single entry into a runner-up finish in what was a multiple-day 1 accumulator format event. To outplay other players is one thing, but to outplay seasoned players who'd accumulated 2 or 3 days worth of chips was and still is hugely impressive.
Thoughts, love & big hugs to Donna and all of Mark's family & friends.

Huge congratulations to forum regular Kevathallam for another great run & huge score!
Back in March, Kevin entered a Pokerplayer magazine freeroll, advertised here in the forum and sponsored by Betsafe, and beat off 690 players to win a €1400 expenses paid package for the SuperWeekend tournament in Tallinn, Estonia.
With fellow Punterslounge.com forum legend DaMatrix also playing, the two of them set about pitting their skills against players from all across Europe. After 2 days at the felt, Kevin narrowly missed out on the title finishing a superb 2nd and taking home €10,800 prize money, +€150 in bounties and even turned a €5 freebet into a further €180 cash! Result!
Our hero managed to get his chips in ahead on what would be the last hand of the tournament, but sadly his A9 lost to his opponents KQ with Queens appearing on both the turn card & river.
Another day and maybe the A9 holds, but that doesn't detract from the tremendous achievement and huge payday, which didn't cost him a penny!
Kev, who can't post at the moment due to Estonian regulations and the fact he's probably enjoying a beer or two also wanted to express his thanks to Bene for the live rail. It's always so awesome that forum members are there supporting each other wherever they go.
Enjoy the beer both, safe travels & see you back real soon.

there has been no activity in the staking forum since January either although I know a few key contributors used it a lot but do not seem as active anymore.
Also the card room review section could go...just my thoughts...

I think there are too many Poker Sub-forums. At the very least you could combine the Poker Chat and Poker Cash/Strategy forums. I would also merge the Live Poker into that forum.
I think we should encourage members to post a "Who's Going?" comment  in the Live Poker Events. It's always good to put a face to a name and it would develop a community spirit.

    Guys/Girls/Friends/Legends,
We're thinking of re-jigging the forum a bit to make things easier to locate quickly and to help inspire a return to active posting. That will include but not be limited to the Live Poker board. It currently takes quite a bit of time to keep updated and we're not really seeing sufficient activity to justify it. Maybe we should have a single centralised calendar of events in a similar way to the Online Tournament Diary, and just summary pages for each tour?
Let us know your thoughts as a whole and on this section in particular.
Do you use it? What bits work well? What could be improved? Should we concentrate on UK events only? include more of the many localised European festivals? Would greater detail of online satellites, e.g. a roadmap of routes for qualification help? Should we combine with the major online series so you can plan ahead? Just thinking out loud, all feedback welcomed, don't hold back.

Safely through the Vegas 2nd round, still freerolling, 1 shot at a bink in the final!
Also Spun up the free WPT Amsterdam token whilst playing too. Still not loving it though, officially still on a break from the grind, just using up tokens.

I always give players the benefit of the doubt with regards to slowrolling.
Last year I was in a £500 comp approaching the bubble. A middle-aged guy raises from the CO and it's folded to me in the BB, I have AJo. The raise is big and I've witnessed him make larger raises with mid pairs before. What really interested me was that as we approached the bubble he was continually looking at the scoreboard to see how far off the money we were. I figured he would fold all but his best hands to a shove, so I reraise 30bb all in. He didn't insta-call, but instead asked for a count. He had me covered (just). As the time went by I figured I was right....he held TT-77, or AQ and didn't fancy getting crippled so close to the money. After about 3 minutes he announced "Call" and flipped over ......KK!!!
I'd love to tell you that I hit my A and went on to win the tourney, but I didn't and I busted a two day comp just short of the money. BUT...I didn't feel angry by the length of time it took him to call. In fact, I was pleased that my read on him was so good....he WOULD have folded all but the very best hands to my shove.
Why won't I criticise his play? For all I know he needed the money to fix his boiler...he looked genuinely nervous about making the call, fearing I had AA or didn't want to get crippled by a flopped A. Had he turned over his cards with relish then I may have been offended, but he was an amateur playing in what was probably his biggest tourney of the year.
Mikel Habb ought to know better though, so I'm glad the 6 came, and I'm glad it came on the river.
