  1. A former champion trainer in his native Sweden, Hans Adielsson has moved to England where he takes on challenges from his new base near Lambourn. Hans Adielsson, 67 – champion trainer of thoroughbreds several times over in Sweden, where he has also been training trotters for twenty-plus years – made some interesting observations as we met him at the Tattersalls Sales in Newmarket in October, where he invested in 14 yearlings for his new base in near Lambourn. “It has been written in Sweden that my move to England is to become Erik Penser’s private trainer,” Adielsson explains, “but that is not quite correct. I will be training a number of horses for Mr. Penser, who persuaded me to make this move, but I take up this new challenge as a public trainer – and will be introducing some new faces to this country on the owner’s side. That said, I would never have made this move without Mr. Penser’s backing.” Penser tried to talk his fellow countryman across the North Sea more than ten years ago, but that was not good timing for Adielsson. “We were absolutely flying with our trotters,” he reflects, “and my son Erik’s career as a driver was also beginning to take off. I simply had to stay where I was.” Adielsson switched to trotting from thoroughbreds in 1988, at the request of his principal backer, Mr. Lars Thulin, who was racing his highly successful horses under the banner Superbus AB. “Thulin felt that the racing circuit was too small – not growing as he would have liked it to – and we decided to close down the thoroughbred operation and make the switch,” Adielsson recalls. Based at Jägersro Galopp outside Malmöe in the south of Sweden, he had been champion trainer so many times it was almost boring to read the end of season standings, and clearly the man needed a fresh challenge. Information you may or may not need to know.:ok

  2. Re: Horse Racing £5000 - £25000 in a year. ;)I have backed at 3/1 with the FAV in,,thats why i think its such a great price, in the longterm i have no doubt the fav will climb higher mountains, but todays pace around a sharp track, over hurdles,,will find the fav out. The fav's pedigree screem's of distance. GL

  3. Re: Horse Racing £5000 - £25000 in a year. The last of my 3 today is TIMESAWASTIN. 3.10 Southwell. 5 STAR NAP The gods have been kind to us here, The market leader was always going to be cramped. Which enabled Timesawastin to become a decent price. The fav has done nothing wrong in winning his two bumpers, but you would ask questions about the validity of the form, and the amount of time off the track. In Timesawastin's case, his first hurdle run is full of positives, and the horses that finished around him, have taken on first class opposition since improving from this race,(cue card for 1). After going a good gallop over 2mile 110 yds at Stratford, got tired in the closing stages, but stayed on to take a respectable 3rd. He will have the advantage today of the experience, plus we know the race will be run at pace, not allowing the FAV to be given an easy time. 3/1 is a great price , can see him going off alot shorter. £500 win, bet placed.

  4. Re: Horse Racing £5000 - £25000 in a year. 2nd bet today. I stay with Stan Moore, 3.55 Ling WISHFORMORE After being unlucky not to get her head in front last week, Stan was very keen to get her in this week before being reassed, with several entries(see blog). Also is there a club day out at Linfield today?, Im not sure, but it smells of it. As he is very keen to expand this racing club. Now im not sure if she will get her head in front today, she has a real chance of that, but now the race is the dead 8. I cannot see her being out of the front 3, so there is the value. At 11/2 - 6/1, and a little bigger on the exchange, I will be getting some of it. £250 e/w. I have not managed to secure all of this yet, but will update what prices i end up with. GL:hope

  5. Re: Horse Racing £5000 - £25000 in a year. My first bet of the day is: DANZIGS GRANDCHILD. This filly was a winner before christmas as a 2yo, and can complete a quick double as a 3yo. The only one in the field who will appreciate the step up, and has a change of gear to cope with whats required. One of the last fillys to be sired by the great Anaaba, interesing that she was in the October tatts sale only to be withdrawn and sold privately at the last moment. Who by non other than 'stan moore', immediately she was put into his emerging race coulers/club. A top claimer on board who is going places, enhances her chances. Today will see her improve more as a 3yo, thus enhancing her paddock value. £400 at 5/2 bet placed. I think this is as big as she will be. Back with more comments soon. Just trying to get some prices. GL:hope

  6. Re: New challenge needed..... The question of how many punters put up a selection, i'd say... plenty on a monday, then tuesday etc takes care of itself. Its advertising the competion before you start. If it was highlited as the main ATR tipping comp, the ego's will flock. The weekly winners could go on a roll of houner. If anyone hits this more than twice (7 on the bounce) They will be regarded as a tipping god, forget your daily's or the RP. This is a challange of some proportion. No problems if you go with something else, just thought i'd throw something in.:D

  7. Re: New challenge needed..... How about this. Very hard imo to succeed in this 1. The ATR 7. 1 choice per day, horses only. 7 days a week, Mon - Sun. New challenge starts on each Monday. If you hit 7 on the bounce, you are truely a god. The only stipulation would be your advertised selection must be odds against at the time of posting. Easy to administrate. (most of us will be out on day 1..lol) A prize of some sort each week, maybe recognition on here, with the weekly winners going forward into a final, leading up to christmas. The final would consist of no more than 10 persons imo, If you dont hit 7, drop to 6,and so on, if you are joint,,,say 5 day wins,,your 6th selection counts on its place, and if both 2nd, or 3rd proximity to the winner, shortest distance wins. And I for 1 would put forward a final trophy, as champion tipster of 2011. If im talking nonsense,,give it to me straight, Im used to dissapointment. :cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry

  8. Thought i would start this thread off as it is now No runner No Bet. Silver by Nature tops the weights off 156. The one for me has to be Summery Justice. 12/1 in most places, plus a bit of 14/1 about(which is impossible to get). This horse has been laid out for this race, and i'm suspecting the stable were over the moon that the race has been delayed by almost two weeks, as they are hitting form right now. His last run was awesome with the form being franked all over the place since this run. Being by Rosselier will love the mud, and stays all day, with a great leap in him. For me he has to run a big race. £200 e/way at 12/1. Bet placed.:hope Lets hear your selections, for this great handicap chase. :D

  9. Re: Horse Racing £5000 - £25000 in a year. Thany you very much,,a bit of a squeeky bum at the 2 marker, but ground it out. Sometimes you have to go with your convictions, the bottom line was i could not see him getting beat. There was pleny of market support, plus some shrewd judges on here were all agreeing with each other.:cheers

  10. Re: Horse Racing £5000 - £25000 in a year. I was previously mentioning that i was waiting for a horse to come back out. After finally getting my money on, the horse is TOBY TYLER 1.40 South. This horse has the BL on today which should do the trick, as well as he was given an easy time last time out. He will grind these out today in the couple of furlongs. He is a very good bet today. £400 win at 5.7. Profit of £1800. GL

  11. Re: Horse Racing £5000 - £25000 in a year. 12.50 Leic. Credit Swap I have been going on about VW's stable coming into form, alas i am pretty sure this will not add to her tally. After being sold he has moved to VW's yard, however M.Wigham was convinced that he would not stay 10 furlongs. Besides which can pull in races and todays ground will not help. Kempton or somwere like that on good ground he may be able to see out the 2 miles. Todays opposition are no pushovers. Layed for a PALCE... £300 at (average) 1.79, liabilty if placed of £235. GL

  12. Re: Flat Racing 4th Jan First bet today. Waiting on Leic inspection. 2.10 Southwell. Mcconnell rates as NAP material. Todays opposition will be no match for finishing burst today. There will be a suicidal pace in this race today, which all plays into the hands of the selection. Fitted with blinkers last time out for the first time helped him settle more and we should see the same attitude today. The opposition are no better than claiming level, he is the only 1 imo that can operate at this level. GB only ride of the day, and GM send only 1 to southwell, were he has a very decent record. £500 win at 2/1, placed. I can see him going off at around 6/4. GL

  14. Re: 2011 a year long thread Well done with this, 3-2 RM. The point im making at the £200 is, the liitle profit you earn as you go over the £200 to draw back makes u feel good, you can then you can reduce your exposure to max 5% (£10). I would say to reach the £200 by Jan 31st would be an outstanding result, for your bank and your knowledge. You may have to over expose yourself from time to time, but not every time to reach this amount, keep this in mind. If you reached this £200 y undo all the hard work, its only small amounts your working with, but no need to throw it away. GL
