  1. Re: Cheltenham 2012-13 season Saturday 17 November Cheltenham Paddy Power day. 1:20 SIRE COLLONGES. Best price tonight 2/1 ladbrokes. plenty more to come, see RP Analysis. SIRE COLLONGES ran out a very brave winner and is finally starting to come good for his champion trainer. Having taken time to acclimatise after coming over from France, he looked as though he may be about to deliver on his one-time high reputation when winning comfortably on his chase debut at Fontwell in May when upped to 2m6f. This looked a lot harder, but he took it in his stride and deserves plenty of credit for bossing the race as he did. He also did extremely well to hold off the renewed challenge of the runner-up after hitting the second-last and nearly unseating, so should rate value for better than the bare margin. Moving up in trip has clearly been the making of him and there´s every chance he can make his mark in graded company now. Connections may do well to keep an eye on the Grade 1 Feltham at Kempton on Boxing Day for him, and returning here next month or at Newbury´s Hennessey meeting in between would make sense. His trainer later added he believes there is plenty more to come........ 2:35 HUNT BALL best price tonight 7/1 bet365 and boyle sports. hunt ball has a chance tomorrow and his trainer is happy with his last piece of work. (very happy with a few more verys) Quotes from Kieran and Antony knott last year winning at the Festival.... QUOTES: Keiran Burke, trainer of Hunt Ball: "He will improve again next season. He will fill out and be stronger. He will be some horse. The race I would love to run him in is the National but I would have to persuade Knotty. "Owner Anthony Knott: "I told you Hunt Ball had a stone in hand! He did what I thought he would do. He´s a proper horse. I said before this race that he could be a Gold Cup horse next year.Well, he looked it there, didn´t he." To be winning Gold cups and King Georges (entry at 20/1 for KG) Knotty should be looking at this as a penalty kick. Assuming nobody from the England camp is taking it........?????

  2. Re: Cheltenham 2012-13 season Not the best day i have had but not to bad of runs. I would say it may have been plenty soft enough for Balthazar king but still a good effort. hunters lodge seemed to get caught napping out the back but finished with a flourish. triggerman did well to be off the bridle for a long way but managed to stay onto the line. His first run for a while he could be better next time with this run under his belt. +3 pts up and tomorrows card looks good. could do with a good day to get out of this danger zone.

  3. Re: Cheltenham 2012-13 season I have taken part in the Cheltenham anti post competition and chose to have a go on SIMONSIG in the RSA Chase at the festival. I am sticking by my guns with this selection after Cheltenham and Aintree Racing post Analysis Quotes. QUOTES: Nicky Henderson, trainer of Simonsig: "In hindsight it does look as though this was the sensible option, but he does have so much natural talent that you could easily run him over 2m. He´s going to go and jump fences in a minute and he has won point-to-points. I think actually that the bigger the obstacle the better he will jump." After this comment i started to have a good think about what can this horse Achieve (things at this point was looking intresting). He went to Aintree from there on and i am not the greatest fan of good horses going to Aintree after putting in a good show at the Festival. Despite this SIMONSIG routed the field and Nicky Henderson says. QUOTES Nicky Henderson said: "Simonsig´s done his bit and I´d have thought it was his last run over hurdles, although we´ve got a long summer to think about it.Barry (Geraghty) thinks fences now. "He´s a very, very good horse, and he sees the trip out, no question, although if we go over fences it will definitely be over 2m. He has tremendous speed, and I could happily bring him back to two." Barry Geraghty said: "He´s as good as he looks - he does everything so easily they were really going too slowly for him today. He missed one or two, especially the second last, and I would say he really wants to jump a fence. He´s a real chaser, and while he can jump hurdles well enough he can be a little careless and I think the would have more respect for fences." Although i have only seen any betting for the RSA (which is over 3M 1/2 F) I will keep a close eye on any entries over the coming months. I have noticed quite a few Anti post Competition picks for SIMONSIG over hurdles, no problem with these selections but i would wait before parting with real cash plus 3/1 about him would be a bit skinny at this time of year and the Cheltenham festival does offer us Non runner no bet around Febuary.

  4. Re: Cheltenham 2012-13 season Cheltenham Paddy Power meeting Friday 16th Nov. 2nd meeting of the season and 3 bets to start the meeting. 3:00 BALTHAZAR KING (again) best price tonight 10/3 hills. 4:05 TRIGGERMAN 14/1 sky bet, victor and ladbrokes tonight. Same race 4:05 HUNTERS LODGE 13/2 with victor tonight. Any winners will be settled on here at SP.:D

  5. Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread New Hampshire was been aimed at the November Hcp after a impressive win at catterick last time out. His trainerTony Coyle schools Hurdles and I am wondering if he has chosen a different path for the horse. Would anyone have any info if he is popping hurdles or as been injured. Cheers.

  6. Re: Cheltenham 2012-13 season sorry all, new to this. I will try and keep this as simple as poss. all bets level stakes WIN only. say 1pt each horse settled at SP, (prices offered as a guide off attheraces site or racing post) some horses come in for a gamble and i can assure you its not my 2 quid.

  7. Re: Cheltenham 2012-13 season Nearest I got was The new one. He ran in a class 4 last time probs as a pipe opener. It means bending the rules to get a selection and I need to keep my feet on the ground this time. I use to go to Cheltenham for the week when istrabraq was around. Not been for years but still hear bells ringing in my ears.

  8. Over the last 3yrs i have done well at the Cheltenham meetings. I am going to post this years selections in the hope i can produce another good year. these selections are system based on last time out, class and rating. C, C/D winners at any time. it does not matter if they ran moderate last time as long as the RP Rating can show a decent figure.:hope

  9. Re: Jump Racing Thursday 18th of October I am no expert on National Hunt but i Kind of favour it to flat more. Apart from falling at the last 3 or 4 clear i find it a little more exciting. if there is anything to go by horses that jump hurdles/ fences they go a lot slower than there flat mates. a moderate horse on the flat could be a champion on the jump scene if he can jump is fences fast. this can give them the edge and its down to the horse having the ability and his training squeezing this out. Maybe Award Winner has the ability all along and his trainer has found a knack to develop this. what price was he on betfair last night. was it the subject of a midnight gamble. anyone feel free to put me right if am wrong.

  10. Re: Rio's Racing Diary A hot handicap for the track and a smart performance from the top-weight NEW HAMPSHIRE, who was the fourth successive winner on the card to make every yard. The 4yo has done well since leaving John Gosden in the spring, this his second win in his last three starts having made all to land the Carlisle Bowl at the end of July from the reopposing Northside Prince. However, this was easily his best performance as he left some very useful handicappers in his wake. He took no prisoners through the first couple of the furlongs but, having been allowed to drop anchor out in front, was always holding the aces and stole an unasailable lead as they entered the home straight. 6lb higher than when previously successful, he is clearly thriving in his new surroundings and looks an exciting prospect for his small yard for the remainder of the campaign. Dark Dune ran well but lacked the tactical pace to seriously threaten. He was ridden more positively than at Pontefract last time and his followers can have no complaints. There was a lot to like about the run of the hat-trick seeking Party Line. Drawn in stall eight, the 3yo was forced to race wider than ideal and was always well away from the favoured inside rail in the straight when attempting to challenge. Tres Coronas was another to shape well. He is gradually working his way back down the weights and might be able to take advantage if getting his favoured softer ground. Hot Rod Mamma ran much better than of late and appeared more at home on this sounder surface. Her last three wins have come over 1m and this distance was always going to stretch her. Art Scholar, who had beaten New Hampshire over 10f at Doncaster earlier in the year, was seen putting in some good late work. Much of his best form has come on more galloping tracks and there´s a suggestion he´s not too badly treated at present. [Marcus Buckland] QUOTES: Tony Coyle, trainer of New Hampshire: "The horse will go straight for the November Handicap now,he was off 90 and he needed to go up 2lb or 3lb to make sure he got in. "The softer the ground the better for him." The stewards enquired into the running and riding of Art Scholar, who finished a never-nearer eighth. His jockey, Andrew Mullen, reported that the horse did not handle the track. No action was taken.
