Zipple Back NAP 2/1 Bet365
Alan King teams up with Noel Fehily here and they look the likley winners of a typical summer maiden hurdle. The 5yo Zipple Back has been placed in all four starts over hurdles and is arguably improving and slowly getting the hang of it. He has found a weak race today and should get off the mark.

Thirsk 3.40 Cote D’Azur @ 14/1 PP e/w thanks
Cote D’Azur....from Les Eyre yard the 4yo is a winner of five races from 7f to 1m 2f on good to firm and good ground and on the all-weather, He was previously with Sir Mark Prescott yard where four of those wins came but moved in August last year and the other win came in first race for Eyre yard, He's had the 7 runs since being at yard but was given 5 runs last year before being put away for winter but along with that win he found two 2nd place finishes one of which was the Shadwell Farm Handicap (Silver Cambridgeshire) at Newmarket 1m 1f GF off a mark of 92, He had the two runs this year without success a AW run to brush the cobwebs off and a prep race 25 days ago when 5th at Pontefract 1m 2f good , His ratings are down to 93 for today's race and only 1lb more than that Newmarket run with P J McDonald in saddle
PS. There a lovely nudist beach at Cote D’Azur seeming the biggest in Europe that was about 30 years ago when I was there camping next door to it with my family

2.30 Brighton: Class 5 Handicap, 6f
I look forward to see Equiano son Otomo return to the track as a three year old now dropping to six furlongs for the first time. He showed promise as a juvenile, was twice narrowly beaten here at Brighton, although over 7f, and ended the season with two more decent performances.
In all his races he showed plenty of early pace but did not quite get home, so he looks ready-made for sprinting. An opening mark of 67 seems reasonable, and any age- plus trip related improvement should see him run a big race.
It's noteworthy that the Hide yard is in good form, with a fantastic record at this track and with Liam Keniry in the saddle. Also Equaino offspring tends to perform incredibly well at Brighton.
Selection:

Pontefract 14:30 Red Tea @ 7/1 betvictor e/w thanks
Red Tea...I do like a good cup of Tea so I 'll go for this Peter Hiatt trained 4yo who comes from a good draw in 2 stall , She has won three times from 7f to 1m on good to firm and good ground so has ideal conditions , She's been running in this class 4 company since last July after winning a class 5 at Newmarket 1m good to firm her first win for yard and followed that up with those other two wins and five place finishes ,
The yard put her away in November for winter break and brought her out 19 days ago at Wolverhampton AW 1m 0.5f when she finished 5th was shaken up at 2 furlong pole but was never a danger and finished 4.25 lengths behind winner Calvados Spirit , I would expect her to come on from that race and runs only 2lb higher than her last winning mark of 80 , With the booking of Paul Hanagan in his first of five booked rides today at Pontefract

Jimmy2shoes reacted to Tedthewolf in Scottish Grand National - Ayr, Saturday
Really very strongly fancy VICENTE to retain his crown i had him well backed to win the English national where he fell at the first backed him for this at 14/1 e/w when betting first opened will probably be the only one i back in the race if he doesnt tip up must surely go very close. There has been plenty money for it and would be no big surprize if goes off Fav on the day of the race. STD takes over as pilot the winners enclosure awaits!!!
Good Luck All

Jimmy2shoes reacted to BillyHills in Punchestown Festival - Tipsters Competition (Starts Tuesday April 25th)
@The Dingo
Tip in any races you want/can, (no minimum) it just means that if you missed the first day you can still enter late.
Obviously the more races you tip in the better chance you have???
Dont be confused, i tried to make the rules really simple.
Enjoy

Jimmy2shoes got a reaction from BillyHills in Scottish Grand National - Ayr, Saturday
Trained by Mr Tom George and he sends up this one sole runner from Gloucester, his runner sadly hit the floor last time out at Chepstow so we'll never know if he would have won.
His profile looks tailored made for such a track like Ayr and it also looks like Mr George has stuck him aside after his last appearance with this race in mind, he's possibly took a confidence knock but T.G would not be sending him such a long distance if that last fall wasn't far behind him.
He might be an 8yr old but he still has low miles on the clock and his owners have a keen eye for a good one and id imagine they will also have made plans for attending to see their big gelding return to action.
The trips an unknown but at the showing price i feel he's worth an E/w Bet for a race of this caliber, Jockey Adrian Heskin rides and is no stranger up-top and has won on him before.
15:55 Ayr - Battle of Shiloh. E/w Bet

Jimmy2shoes reacted to BillyHills in Scottish Grand National - Ayr, Saturday
The jump season is fast approaching the finishing line but the big races keep coming.
This week we have the Ayr Scottish Grand National meeting and then its on to Punchestown next week and then we have the final day at Sandown on the 29th.
Scottish National
A tough race to weight up and if you look at the past winners you will soon notice a couple of things. Firstly the price of the winner, although we have had the odd surprise (66/1 and 40/1) the majority have in fact come from the first half dozen in the betting.
Another interesting point is that only 3 horses have won in the last dozen years with a rating over 140 and only 2 have carried more than 11st since the great Grey Abbey lumped 11st 12lbs around here in 2004.
Previous Winners this century;
Key trends
10/10 Winners previously won over 3m+.
9/10 Winners ran within 45 days.
8/10 Winners either Irish or French bred.
8/10 Winners carried less than 11st.
8/10 Winners rated 143 or lower.
7/10 Winners aged between 7-9
6/10 Winners placed last time out.
