  1. Re: Euro 2012 > 12th October

England v Montenegro Montenegro +1.5 @ 2.01 - Pinnacle To be perfectly honest, I find England are almost always under-priced by the bookies.
I sort of agree, but England have won their last 12 games at Wembley, which is nothing to be sniffed at, especially considering they've scored 39 goals in the process (3.25 per game), and thats against teams such as Croatia, Belarus, Mexico etc. etc. so teams on Montenegro's level. Out of those 12 wins, they've beaten the -1 handicap 8 times, so although they may be boring to watch, they do go on to finish teams off. I do like the 2nd half more goals bet that someone posted earlier, just having a look at the stats and that bet would win in 10 out of the last 12 England home games, so the price on it at 11/10 looks decent. Perhaps even Draw/England @ 7/2 or even Montenegro/England at 33/1 may also appeal to some people, but I think I'll leave those alone personally.
  2. Re: Euro 2012 > 12th October England v Montenegro This won't be an easy game by any means for England. Montenegro are a better side since their World Cup qualifying attempt despite losing a couple of key players. Krancjar has built a solid, well balanced team with some good techinical ability all around the pitch. They will line up something like: Bozovic Savic - Basa - Dzudovic - Jovanovic Vukcevic - Pekovic - Zverotic - Boskovic Vucinic Djalovic It's a good team, with a solid spine and the creativity of Vukcevic and Vucinic, mixed with the clinical style of Djalovic make them dangerous on the break. Where they may be suspectable however is down the wings, Savic, a 19 year old playing at Partizan Belgrade is making only his second international appearance, whilst Jovanovic was far from convincing against Switzerland, looking out of sorts at this level. England are with a few issues themselves. Injuries to Defoe, Bent, Walcott and Lennon mean that there is little pace in the team, whilst back problems for Terry mean that it will once again be a makeshift back four, with Rio coming in as captain, and surely not 100% game fit with so few starts. Where England do have an advantage however is down the wings, with Johnson starting on the right, and one of Cole, Downing and Young on the left. There's a lot of potential there and with the Montenegro full backs looking like the weak spot, it may be an area that England target, especially with the attacking nature of both Ashley Cole on the left and Johnson on the right. With Crouch starting up front, and Rooney off form, you would expect to see lots of balls into the box, and I wouldn't be suprised to see the lanky Crouch get onto one or two of those crosses, which is where my betting will look too. Crouch first scorer @ 9/2 - Various - 2.5pts Crouch to score anytime @ 11/8 - Boylesports - 5pts Crouch to score 2 or more @ 7/1 - BetFred - 1pt Johnson to score 2 or more @ 18/1 - Bet365 - 1pt Another interesting stat is regarding Englands goal record at home. England have gone over 2.5 in 18 of their last 19 games at Wembly! Quite remarkable when you think about it. So on a purely statistical basis, I'll be backing; Over 2.5 @ 8/11 - StanJames - 5pts Over 3.5 @ 2/1 - VCbet - 2.5pts

  3. Re: Jk's 2010/2011 Thread. Spurs v Wolves Spurs will be dissapointed they didnt get the win against Bremen after a great start. These are the sort of games that will really stretch their squad, and personally I dont think there is enough strength in depth for them to compete in Europe and the League. They host Wolves on Saturday, after their trip back from Bremen, and it will be a tough tie. We saw last time out after their Champions League qualifier how tough it is as they slumped to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Wigan. They will be without Dawson and Defoe once again, both key to the way they play. Without Defoe they rely on the height of Crouch, and against a stubborn Wolves defence that may be difficult. Wolves came to White Hart Lane last season and picked up all 3 points with a 1-0 win, and I wouldnt be suprised if something similar happened this weekend. Wolves @ 15/2 - 1pt - PaddyPower Wolves +1 @ 9/5 - 2.5pts - PP Under 2.5 @ 11/10 - 5pts - PP ------------------------------ Wigan v Man City The same as above applies here really. Man City coming here off the back of an away trip to Austria. Not much time to prepare for this game. Wigan are impossible to predict, but recent results suggest things are starting to look up for Martinez after a horrible start. There's a lot of new players in that team so it will obviously take time to gel, but a good week off will have done them well. Al-Habsi has made a good start since taking over from Kirkland and that will inspire more confidence into the defence. Wigan @ 9/2 - 2pts - Skybet Wigan -1 @ 12/1 - 1pt - PP Wigan +1 @ Evens - 4pts - PP Under 2.5 @ 4/5 - 3pts - PP

  4. Re: Jk's 2010/2011 Thread. Macclesfield v Stockport Suprised by the odds on Macclesfield here. I know they're not in great form themselves, but Stockport are woeful, some of the defending last week against Shrewsbury was embarrasing. Macclesfield have had a slightly more difficult task in the league so far than Stockport, and some of their results have been promising. A midweek win over Morcambe will be a confidence boost and they will be relishing the opportunity of scoring a few against Stockport. If Macclesfield can bag an early goal it could be one of those days for Stockport. Macclesfield @ 11/10 - 5pts - PaddyPower Macclesfield -1 @ 10/3 - 2.5pts - PaddyPower Macclesfield -2 @ 9/1 - 1pt - PaddyPower

  5. Re: Jk's 2010/2011 Thread.

England v Bulgaria England are far too short here, Bulgaria are not a bad outfit, the two Petrovs are top players, as are the likes of Popov and Bojinov who are a decent strike forcek, even without Berbatov. However, Bulgaria will probably play into Englands hands here. They are likely to start two up top and they like to play possesion football, that means if they get caught on the ball high up the pitch, then England may be able to hit them on the break, something they are capable of doing, especially with Walcott back in the line up and firing for Arsenal. It should actually make for quite an entertaining game, as I dont think Bulgaria will just sit back, they will try and score, meaning there should be plenty of goals. Add to that the fact that the English defence is made up of Upson and Dawson loon.gif and surely Bulgaria must fancy there chances to score a couple. Therefor my bets are; Over 2.5 goals @ 8/11 - 5pts - StanJames :) +3.63 Over 3.5 goals @ 2/1 - 2.5pts - VCBet :) +5 Walcott anytime @ 2/1 - 2.5pts - StanJames :( And considering Rooneys record for England is pretty poor, and that Bulgaria should score at least one, I fancy this bet. Rooney v Bulgaria match bet - Bulgaria @ 2/1 - 2.5pts - :( StanJames And one more for luck. Bulgaria to score exactly 2 @ 10/1 - 1pts - :( StanJames
+2.63 for this game. -5 in the Latvia game as Croatia scored a 3rd in the 82nd minute :( -2.37 for the night.
  6. Re: Jk's 2010/2011 Thread. Latvia v Croatia The Latvians are a difficult team to beat at home, losing only once in their last 11 home games, albeit against some pretty poor opposition. They don't concede many goals though, and havnt conceded 3 goals at home since 2004. Croatia arn't bad on the road however, and have only lost one away game since 2007, quite staggering considering they didnt reach the world cup. They don't score many goals though, and without Modric, who is out through injury, they lose a lot of creativity in the middle. So it looks like an unders game all over for me. Under 2.5 goals @ 4/5 - 5pts - Bet365

  10. Re: Jk's 2010/2011 Thread. Very close if it wasn't for that late Etuhu goal. Still feel Blackpool were overpriced though. Over 2.5 came in though, as I expect it will for Blackpool quite a lot this season. -2pt overall, could have been a lot better though!

  11. Re: Jk's 2010/2011 Thread.

Blackpool v Fulham I was really keen on getting on Fulham not long ago, but I'm slowly beginning to change my mind. As people have mentioned, Fulhams away record is truely awful, and although this is one of those games they'll be looking to win, I feel Blackpool may be the slight value here. This is Blackpools first home game of the season for starts, after 2 successive away games, so there will be a buzzing atmosphere. They did lose 6-0 last week, but for 70 minute they were playing with 10 men and chasing Arsenal shaped shadows, it was never a contest really. What they did show me, early on, was they will create chances as they did when Taylor Fletcher headed wide from 6 yards out. Holloway will once again send this team out to attack, and with Fulham possibly playing 4-4-2, you feel they will create chances. Therefor I'm going to side with Blackpool who are too big for me, an overreaction from last weeks 6-0. Blackpool @ 3.2 - 2.5pts (Skybet) Blackpool -1 @ 7/1 - 1pt (Skybet) Over 2.5 goals @ Evens - 2.5pts (StanJames)

  16. Re: Jk's 2010/2011 Thread. Arsenal v Blackpool There is absolutely no value in the 1x2 market in this game, and 6/5 for Arsenal -2 on the handicaps is rediculous, especially on the 2nd game of the season. However, depending on whether he starts or not I think Rosicky looks good value to score. He looked sharp when he came on against Liverpool last week and if he can stay fit he'll be an important play for Arsenal this season. Therefor, Rosicky 1st Scorer @ 10/1 (1pt) with SkyBet and 7/2 anytime scorer (2.5pts) with the same bookie both look like they could be value for me. Do make sure he's in the starting line up though as its no certainty.
