  1. Re: Quality/arrogance of posts

No excuse other than the last 14 months have been personally quite tough. This means without me directing things on here, that things can go a little downhill, but I don't see a major problem. Things just need tidying up and after I've put the ratings up, I'm going to ask certain members to help do that, in joining the team as moderators. :ok
Yeh thats cool, as I said I've got lots of time on my hands and I'm more than willing to help out if needed. As you say, there's not much that needs to be done its just a bit of tyding up really.
  2. Just seeing what other people think about this, but personally I feel the quality of posts has gone down slightly in some of the football threads. There's a lot of posts now of just rubbish, either people arguing with eachother or people not giving reasoning, and then after a result people boasting about how much money they've won or how incredibly talented at tipping they are. Anyone else have a view?

  3. Re: Champions League 7th of April All over United tonight at that price, to be honest I think they'll cruise through this fairly comfortably. Ferguson got the tactics wrong last week, but I think they'll be much more attacking this week and hopefully both Nani and Valencia will start. Man Utd win @ 4/5 : 10pts Man Utd -1 @ 7/4 : 5pts

  4. Re: Best bet of the day 7th April 1.50 Nottingham Gone for Horsley Warrior here in what is quite an unpredictable race. Most of these have little turf form, including Horsley who only has 6 runs of date so has room for improvement. Finished a respectable 3 lengths off Alanbrook on debut about 18 months ago on similar ground to today. Has had a warm up race at Southwell this year where he dissapointed a little, but should come on for that run and appreciate the return to turf. Wears blinkers for the first time aswell which could be a positive, as is the 7lb claimed by the Jockey. Lots of positives for this one. 1pt win Horsley Warrior @ 7/1 (SJ, BOG)

  5. Re: Best bet of the day April 5th 2.10 Southwell Mackintosh was the one I liked most out of this bunch. I think taking the furlong off his trip will be enough to see him get his first win after two recent 2nds. The booking of Spencer looks good aswell, he has a 25% strike rate (34 wins in 133 races) round here which is remarkable. Looks to be an improver and could prove a class above the rest of these. 1pt Win @ 11/4 StanJames BOG

  6. Re: Southwell April 5th (AW) 2.10 Southwell Picked out four for this one. Mackintosh was the one I liked most out of this bunch. I think taking the furlong off his trip will be enough to see him get his first win after two recent 2nds. The booking of Spencer looks good aswell, he has a 25% strike rate (34 wins in 133 races) round here which is remarkable. Looks to be an improver and could prove a class above the rest of these. Reprieved was another one I liked the look of, but I'm not sure on the price, expected it to be slightly bigger. After a dissapointing time in the Chapman and Camacho yard, he had his first run for J J Quinn at Southwell lto and although finishing 6th, was finishing well and should like the extra 1f today. Mr.Chocolate Drop looked interesting last year when starting to improve into a decent horse in these type of races. Had his first run this year a few weeks back and was never really in it, but that was more than likely just a run to regain fitness. With that run in the bag this one may prove interesting at a decent price. Luisa Tettrazzini is the last one I highlighted. A fustrating horse who never seems to want to get up and challenge to the line, but perhaps the blinkers may make a difference. Been slightly unlucky in the last couple of runs, and was just outclassed in a better race lto, but finished a respectable 3rd. Could challenge at a decent price. 2.5pts win Mackintosh @ 11/4 1pt win Reprieved @ 5/1 0.5pts e/w Mr.Chocolate Drop @ 12/1 0.5pts e/w Luisa Tetrazzini @ 25/1

  7. Re: Champions League- 6th April

They haven't got a bad replacement though have they' date=' in Henry.[/quote'] I really don't think Henry will play, I don't think he could bare scoring against Arsenal. He's only played twice in 2010 anyway. The line-ups will probably be; Almunia Sagna - Campbell - Vermaelen - Clichy Denilson - Diaby Eboue - Nasri - Rosicky Bendtner vs Valdes Alves - Milito - Abidal - Maxwell Busquets Xavi - Keita/Iniesta Bojan - Messi - Pedro
  8. Re: Champions League- 6th April I know we're underdogs but I wouldnt get carried away, we're still a top quality team even with the players missing. I wouldn't take the first leg as a sign of how this one will play out either, I doubt Barca will press as hard as they did in that game, and we were carrying Fabregas and Arshavin in the first 20 minutes when we were getting dominated. We will miss song but at least we'll have 10 players willing to close the ball unlike last week when we had 5 or 6 players struggling. If the price on Arsenal goes any higher than 7/1 I'm well on it.

  9. Re: Somewhere over (or under) the rainbow Very fustrating day, came close in quite a few but for the last 10 minutes. Derby v Ipswich (U) @ 8/11 :( (1-3, 3 goals in last 10 mins) Swansea v Scunthorpe (U) @ 8/11 :( (3-0, goal in 80th minute) Plymouth v Boro (U) @ 8/11 :) (0-2) Bristol Rovers v Mk Dons (O) @ 4/5 :( (1-0) Bury v Burton (U) @ 4/5 :( (3-0, 86th minute goal) Sivasspor v Galatasaray (U) @ 5/6 :) (1-1) P/L: -2.5 Bank: 97.5 Wins: 2 Losses: 4

  10. Re: Champions League- 6th April Song injured aswell ffs, our injury list is a rediculous. Normally I'd say our price is too big but I think without our 5 of our most important players I can't see us getting a result :sad Almunia Sagna - Campbell - Vermaelen - Clichy Denilson Diaby - Nasri Eboue - Bendtner - Rosicky I guess that will be the team, meh.

  11. Going to have a little go at a under/over 2.5 goals hunt. I'm trying to work out a decent system for next season, so for now this will be a glory hunt, perhaps if I can refine it well enough it will become a proper system next year, we'll see. Going to be a paper trail to start off with, starting on 100pt bank, each bet is 1pt. ------------------------------- Derby v Ipswich (U) @ 8/11 Swansea v Scunthorpe (U) @ 8/11 Plymouth v Boro (U) @ 8/11 Bristol Rovers v Mk Dons (O) @ 4/5 Bury v Burton (U) @ 4/5

  12. Re: Southwell 31st March (AW) 4.00 Southwell Alot of these with chances but also a lot of unpredictability as they come off long breaks / first time on the all weather, etc. However I'm going to side with bottom weight, Calculating. Seems to have a case of seconditis recently but I fancy the booking of Probert to change that. Probert has a good record on him, reading 2, 1, 1, 2. Often gets caught right on the post over this distance after leading, but I'm hoping recent runs over 17f will have improved the stamina, and the strength of Probert will be enough to push him over the line in 1st. 1pt e/w Calculating @ 8/1

  13. Re: Champions League 31st of March

Look at those teams again. How many Arsenal players will get into the Barca side? Arshavin and Fabregas. That's it. Yet you're supremely confident' date=' I cant fathom it! As they say, a fool and his money are easily parted.[/quote'] I don't think Arshavin would actually, Nasri maybe but Arshavin is too inconsistant. If you honestly wan't me to combine the best team out of the two it would be; Valdez Alvez - Pique - Vermaelen - Clichy Song Fabregas - Xavi Messi - Ibrahimovic - Nasri So all in all about half and half. EDIT: By the way, Gallas is in the squad and Wenger has said he has a decent chance of starting. Would be great news if so.
  14. Re: Champions League 30th of March

Exactley like I said. Bayern were decidedly average' date=' yet sneak it at the end.[/quote'] You think so? I thought Bayern were quite impressive, they dominated the midfield physically and didn't give United a chance on the ball, and they dealt with Rooney well. United were really poor. Looks like Rooney is injured aswell :nana
