  1. Re: Holdem manager/PT3 Huds

I dont bother too much with rakeback. its not so important at the levels i play. i play on virgin through loyalty not for the benefits i recieve.
obv its capped but still do you get some pretty sweet incentives, full tilt traffic is shockin at high stakes recently, surely you could give them a ring or summin...:loon
  2. Re: Holdem manager/PT3 Huds

Ok here goes dog, The reason i play mostly good players is the fish as you put it do not have the roll to play where i play. Simple as that. You get an odd one with their whole roll but trying to get into that table is a job in itself. As for "my table selection sucks" can you please then explain why i am a consistantly winning player??
in the same way that i could play EV+ poker yet still open fold AA everytime i get it, it would be more EV+ to play aces, but it doesnt make me a losing player. There are plenty of people who dont table select terribly well (me included half the time - everyones a fish, nit or lagdonk on betfair), but to ignore pretty much dead money is a crime higher up. In short, table selection is one piece of the poker pie.
  3. Re: River Play bet fold the river because ur losing a gazillion percent of the time. Thats what me and the articulate mr Nade were saying, bet less on river and fold to raise....A6 was the only straight he ever shows here, but there is so much other crap he calls in early thats beating you now.

  4. Re: River Play

Think we can narrow his range on the flop after he calls right down to 88,44, Ax. Check call again on turn, very unlikely by two pair. Seems like he has an A didn't like your re-raise on the flop, doesn't really like his position in the hand on the turn but feels he has to call. Then check again on river which is unlikely for a straight, but if you've been aggro. often and as you're betting out every street here he may see value in check-raising a straight i don't know. Hands you're beating: A2,A3,A9,AT,AJ,AQ,AK. Hands you're losing to: A5,A6,A7,A8. Will discount 44,88, AK because people so rarely play them like this. So there's just a couple more hands that you're most likely beating then losing to. Pots $17.90 if my maths is right :unsure. I'd bet out about $6. Reasons - You will get called by every hand you beat. - It doesn't pot commit you to a re-raise where you're always beaten. - Opponent will very rarely re-raise with better 2 pair as the $6 bet looks highly suspicious. So $6 is a blocking value bet.
why is it that people can say pretty much the same as me, yet make it readable and not rubbish. Im thick.
  5. Re: Holdem manager/PT3 Huds

Good players dont play the same way all the time.
Why only play good players when there are fish that want to dumptruck their money at every level. your table selection must suck, i suppose PT3/HEM would be a good way for you to analyse your fellow players limits. PS. i am by no means saying that there are the same amount of bad players at .10/.20 as there are at 10/20
  6. Re: Was i slowrolled?

Id be more pissed off If I had 6' date='7 and was involved there[/quote'] you would call down two streets on that board with 67? :eek I think we were both pretty tentative until that river. Im pretty sure naked 67 with no flush draw is raising either the flop or turn, or should be. HOwever i wouldnt have been surprised to see that turned over on betfair...There arent that many times im even considering folding second nuts at my level.
  7. I got 1 outered and then slowrolled for my stack, i had a bit of a whine afterwards but no one took the bait so i just shut up. Seriously though i have no HUD for omaha so generally at low stakes is this generally a slowroll or someone who just doesnt have a clue whether they could be beaten?? ***** Betfair Poker Hand History for Game 392512845 ***** PL $0.10/$0.20 Omaha - Wednesday, July 30, 22:18:19 GMT 2008 Table Copper Canyon 03 6-max (Real Money) Seat 6 is the button Total number of active players : 6 Seat 1: halfbad ( $28.43 ) Seat 2: vancho ( $20.66 ) Seat 3: SweetLisa ( $28.82 ) Seat 4: tekt ( $34.54 ) Seat 5: rounder86na ( $29.03 ) Seat 6: evanthethin ( $19.40 ) halfbad posts small blind [$0.10] vancho posts big blind [$0.20] ** Dealing down cards ** Dealt to evanthethin [ 5d, 8d, 8h, 6s ] SweetLisa folds tekt calls [$0.20] rounder86na calls [$0.20] evanthethin calls [$0.20] halfbad calls [$0.10] vancho checks ** Dealing Flop ** [ 5s, 8s, 9h ] halfbad checks vancho checks tekt checks rounder86na bets [$0.50] evanthethin raises to [$2] halfbad folds vancho folds tekt folds rounder86na calls [$1.50] ** Dealing Turn ** [ 4h ] rounder86na checks evanthethin bets [$3] rounder86na calls [$3] ** Dealing River ** [ 9d ] rounder86na bets [$7] evanthethin goes all-in evanthethin raises to [$14.20] nearly times out!!! rounder86na calls [$7.20] ** Showdown ** rounder86na shows [ Kd, 9c, 8c, 3h ] full house, Nines full of Eights evanthethin shows [ 5d, 8d, 8h, 6s ] full house, Eights full of Nines ** Hand Conclusion ** rounder86na wins $37.43 from main pot with full house, Nines full of Eights ************ Game 392512845 ends ************ So i suppose my answer is, should i get a bit peeved when this happens or just put up with it because he didnt mean it (and i dont want to make it too clear that it is obvious that he doesnt know what hes got)? :welcome to omaha guys, im not sure ive seen an omaha thread on here yet....

  8. Re: River Play i am almost never checking behind in this spot...I suppose the bet size depends on whether you are bet folding or whether you think the guy is the kind of retard that will jam it in with A9-AQ/J. I always find fishys will call small bets to the river (regardless of pot size/stack size and odds) but then when you throw out a larger value bet on the river they will fold out a lot of their range that you are beating. His stack size makes the bet size a bit harder. I was watchin a DC video the other day where they were talking about flop and turn play to set up a river shove, if you bet closer to pot on the turn, say 5.25, you have effective stacks of 14.25 on the river (rather than 15.50) and the pot is 17.25. I dont see how he turns up with a straight very often here (A6), and i expect to see AJ-A9 a bit, but Ax has turned into a number of better two pairs. Okay ill stop burbling, im starting to talk myself out of a big bet because i dont want to be raised getting like 10/1 or summin, the way hes played the hand (passive) imo means he is calling down with AX (non 2pairs) and only raising things that beat you. I say bet 6-8 and fold to a shove. Generally at micro, passive throughout the hand and then showing strength on the river means he has you. HMpff tougher than i thought.... so what happen? you lose to a set of Aces? lol

  9. Re: Panorama: BBC1 9pm that bruce bennett guy seemed like a complete retard, ffs what an idiot who kicks a reporter on camera - might as well be admitting you are guilty just searched for his company propak, can anyone do a keiran fallon voice, 01438-728885 - ring up and pretend to be him if u are bored tomorrow. Or ring up as kenyon and see how quick the receptionist hangs up lol

  10. Re: Pocket Queens under the gun

How can you justify having set number of rebuys. Should it not be dependent on the value at your current table? Late in the rebuy period, the chips on your table to chips on other tables is another important factor. The worse case scenario is being on a tight table where no one has rebought, the players on this table are a definite disadvantage unless it breaks.
I think generally this strategy applies to low stakes rebuys on the internet where at least half of any table you sit at are maniacs. I dont think im really qualified to talk about this as ive probably played
  11. Re: Pocket Queens under the gun this brings and up an interesting point that no one seems to know the right answer to. Ive read countless articles that contradict each other about how best to play a rebuy. Some suggest that you shouldnt play a rebuy unless you are willing/have the money to rebuy, whilst others say that your way (and my way) is best, doubling at the start and then not rebuying (although i will add on if it makes a big difference to my stack). Anyone got a sound strategy that they follow /sorry for thread hijack - i generally dont comment on tourny hands because i dont play tournies.

  12. This forum seemed to be lacking a thread of this sort, seeing as how teh pokers is more about your opponent and his tendencies than your cards. I bought holdem manager a while ago but im pretty sure PT3 is practically the same and so the same applies to both. What do you have on your HUD? I never really set mine up properly, i see videos all the time where the pro has about a gazillion stats that will never converge (and thus never be useful). Mine goes: Name/Hands/VPIP/PFR Btn Steal/Fold BB to Steal/Flop cont bet/Fold to flop cont bet/ Fold to turn cont bet/flop aggression/turn aggression I hate agression factor on its own, prefer to split it to flop/turn as a lot of fish play the flop like a mental patient and then the turn completely straight forward (hence why i like fold to turn cont bet). Im pretty sure i should have a few more as i find myself frequently rolling over the stats and looking at the bigger popups (anyone who has seen me play knows i timeout sh*tloads, especially on betfair where u get a tiny clock - OT) I know that a number of players on PL dont use a hud, imo this is a massive leak so i would like to hear your opinions as well. 13. Re: Sick Dilemma

As a side note I never try to win a tournament until I'm down to final 4/5. We could talk for hours about pushing edges early in an MTT etc. It's a matter of ability, the better you are the less edges you should push. The weaker player should take every possible coin flip he can get, the better player should avoid them at all costs.
in which case i would advise you to take the early coinflops :unsure
  14. Re: Sick Dilemma

I similar hand cropped up in the big cash game I used to play. I had put 200 in pre with JT suited and hit a straight flush draw. It was going to cost me my remaining 2800 on the flop. I passed. Why do I want a three grand coin flip? I may as well go and play red/black and save the time. I will always fold this and trying and win by playing - I think I have more chance that way. We're all different though. Thanks for the opinions. :ok
Gutshot or open ended? Being bankrolled is rather important to your ability to play profitable poker ;)
  15. Re: Interesting Hand... Interesting Point... if you are going to play middle pair no kicker on the flop and turn like that then you should be calling the river as a river call doesnt exactly cripple you and the queen changes nothing. I check/fold the turn and bang myself on the head until i remember that i shouldnt be going looking for ways to go broke in an unraised pot.
