  1. Re: Rant...

Yeah same' date=' here Nade![/quote'] Im not one to normally comment on grammar or spelling but that comma shouldnt, be there. :D Proof of riggness please..
  2. Re: Rant...

all you can do is be patient and it will come back, you got to realise just how many players there are on-line now all thinking they are phil hellmuth after watching the television progs.
    :rollin:rollin:rollin
  3. Re: Sick Dilemma II

The standard of play at 1/2 and 2/5 is so poor that you should be looking to play at those levels even if you're not that comfortable bankrole wise.
and then hope that you run like god... But really, what would you call 'being bankrolled' for a semi-pro playing 200 and 500 PLO? Because if a holdem player got hold of that advice and took his 20 BI to PLO he could demolish this bankroll pretty quickly...
  4. Re: Futile? Oh and yeh there are people playing profitable games of all styles but each game will have an optimum style of play depending on the rest of the players at the table. Back to my point that i could play a profitable game whilst folding AA preflop, but i would be more profitable if i played it. Lots of styles of play are +EV but some are more +EV than others...

  5. Re: Futile? oh and the weather, my point is that the weather can be loosely predicted by a computer, but is hardly ever 'exactly right'. In the same sense a piece of software cant play the game for you because there are so many unknown variables, but it can give you an indication of what you shouyld be doing against a certain opponant.

  6. Re: Futile? crossed wires...my point is that there is no computer program that can currently play NLHE FOR you, that isnt the point of tracking software. The poker tracker reference is completely wrong, i think theres a thread (not sure the name) on the strategy forum of optimum VPIP and PFR figures at 6-max NLHE, the boundarys are fine and for example generally people playing a loose passive 30/5 game are easily exploited. Bet sizing is the main thing that can be right/wrong, thin value betting, 2/3 barrelling, controllin pot etc are all parts of the game that can be right/wrong and can be easily improved by using tracking software IMO.

  7. Re: WTF? I fold here turns out bad but I got to surely??

hmmm.... I think it depends on the read of the players. Against a LAG' date=' I probably would every day of the week, but against a tighter player I'd like to think I'd be dumping.[/quote'] this hand is against 2 players though so its a completely different situation, I cant ever find anything other than a fold here and i dont think there is an issue. It just seemed like the original poster was annoyed that he folded what would have been the best hand eventually when it was clearly the right decision, just wierd to me.
  8. Re: Awkward hands

I'm going to go against the general opinion here and suggest that the river is a bluff. Pre flop he could have any 2 cards. post flop he puts in a pot size bet - again any 2 cards could do this. After that it almost depends on whether he's a fish or a good player. Calling the re-raise, the bet on the turn and then an over bet on the river could put him in the former category in my opinion. If he had the 8 surely a bet about $30 would guarantee a call and therefore a pay off, and may even tempt you into re raising all in. It wouldn't surprise me to see him holding AK, A9, 96, 76
That bet sizing is too logical, ive seen (been the victim of) people open shoving AA while ive been sitting with KK trying to find a way out of calling. If he has a straight then i suppose the all in was a way of planting the seed of doubt [why would he not just valuetown me etc]
  9. Re: Awkward hands

Nobody think he's desperate on the river? I've raised him on the flop and bet the turn, so he could think there's a good chance I'll bet the river too. That's the impression his all in gave me. Agree about the bet on the turn - I tend to get into the habit of using the buttons and just bet 1/2 the pot:$ (more often I do 3/4 the pot which probably would have been better here).
my thinking is, he bets the flop hoping to end it, when he calls the raise he has a piece of it imo. When he check calls the turn i think 78/89 look likely because the although its an overcard its helped his equity against a made hand on the flop alot. The river just screams strength to me, so by that point he has either made the straight or is bluffing the 6 with a weak made hand that didnt improve i guess (7T??!?!). I really dont know but i think he has the straight quite often.
  10. Re: Awkward hands pretty strong line really/// I almost definately fold. Ive changed my mind about this hand a lot. Im trying to think of hands he could bet/call the flop, check/call the turn and mash the river with. The only hands that make sense to me are 88, 78 and 89 (does he call pf with 88 or repop??). Please say you called just so we can find out what he had??!?!

  11. Re: Futile? lol are you seriously saying the older you get the more open-minded you become? The strategy forum has picked up a bit so could a mod please close this [pointless] thread and banish it to the PL basement or something...

  12. Re: Interesting spot at 50PLO I couldnt actually wait to post my analysis, probly should have waited for a few more views/replies but ah well. Im starting to see the value of a wrap equity wise as well, from the scrap book - 'If the bottom card was 4h rather than 5h then I would be 51% against two overpairs and flushdraw (QKQdKd) and 57% against top set no draws'
