  1. Re: Interesting spot at 50PLO Okay my analysis is im pretty unlucky, i flop huge and im up against the worst hand equity wise, im actually 39% because of his 99, if his pairs were KKQQ i would be 46% and against top set im 45% I agree preflop, i seem to be hitting all my playable hands UTG atm and trying to force it, and coming from a holdem background i cant stand open limping... Im still confident im better than most at this level (ive just moved up) i just seem to only be getting in tricky spots right now.

  2. Re: Interesting spot at 50PLO

If she reraises on the flop, then you say she's taggyish so I'd be prepared to let it go, as you'd have to think that your club draw could be dead.
If she reraises a flop check raise, i would be more expecting to see top set than a higher flush draw
  3. Re: Interesting spot at 50PLO okay the white thing didnt work, neither does the blue thing, just try not to look at the result!!! okay?!?! Oh yeah and just to justify, maybe my play was horrible or something, i just saw 'ooo straight flush draw' and thought shove shove shove.

  4. Right ive started a little scrap book (well e-scrap book in word) with my most troublesome/biggest losers/suckouts etc to see whether i could have done anything different. Another reason for this is to give me a better understanding of the game/odds in different spots i.e. whats my equity with top set vs an oe straight draw and flush draw... Onto the hand, villain is a reg (if there is such a thing at 50PLO on betfair), ive seen 'her' around a fair bit and 'she' is polite to fishys (understands not to scare them away) and seems to roughly understand PLO. This is exactly the person i am developing my game to crush, i.e. the taggyish regs. ***** Betfair Poker Hand History for Game 395336380 *****

************ Game 395336380 ends ************ ************************** Result is in white above, have a think about the hand pre and post the result and i will post some info/odds i have looked over a bit later. Obviously if you would have played it different post that etc. Unless she is a complete genius she had no clue where i was and that she was completely killing my equity with that hand.
  5. Re: is a reraise here ever right? i think if im calling the raise then im checking the turn because im then giving him a chance to bet with his air again, whereas if i call raise and bet the turn the bluffs in his range are folding for sure.

  6. Re: is a reraise here ever right? i suppose a lot of turn cards could kill action from 77+, it just seems sick because i thought putting the chips in the middle was a formality (ie. i was so certain after raising he had to call the all in). I suppose this hand might help me finally figure out what people use check min-raises for.

  7. Right i flop the nuts (or as good as) and im looking to get my money in fast, but too fast? This kind of thing has happened before and is clearly a huge leak as im expecting to stack people when i flop big. The guy is a LAG (56/19) but really cant trust this as its over 16 hands. I tended to think a min-raise showed strength at low levels so im expecting to get my RR AI called so often. I also think hes calling with any over pair, maybe 5s,4s and 3s and obv any 6, possibly AK. Is a reraise here standard or given position should i just be calling and hoping he takes a second shot on the turn, his fold suggests he had absolutely nothing at all to me so is he taking another shot if i flat call ? ***** Hand History for Game 394489230 ***** $50.00 USD NL Texas Hold'em - Monday, August 04, 07:33:45 ET 2008 Table Neon 100 (Real Money) Seat 3 is the button Seat 1: schlupi10 ( $15.00 USD ) Seat 2: TheKalimeth ( $131.45 USD ) Seat 3: evanthethin ( $75.11 USD ) Seat 4: kasino ( $18.18 USD ) Seat 5: bil31 ( $0.00 USD ) Seat 6: julie28 ( $0.00 USD ) kasino posts small blind [$0.25 USD]. schlupi10 posts big blind [$0.50 USD]. ** Dealing down cards ** Dealt to evanthethin [ 6c Ad ] TheKalimeth folds evanthethin raises [$1.75 USD] kasino calls [$1.50 USD] schlupi10 folds ** Dealing Flop ** [ 6h, 2c, 6d ] kasino checks evanthethin bets [$2.80 USD] kasino raises [$5.60 USD] evanthethin raises [$15.20 USD] kasino folds evanthethin wins $12.40 USD evanthethin wins $14.45 USD from main pot So, as you can see, not a big issue, but 20BB is big chunk of a session normally and a huge leak if i can get it in by trapping.

  8. Re: Futile?

A lot of it is the age or experience gap. Younger players seem convinced there is a right and a wrong way to play poker. If there was we could all get the computer program on ebay and go down the pub.
Imo this is absurd. This is like saying that 'the young guys on the TV box think there is a way of predicting the weather on a computer, pah if there was we could get a program off ebay to do it'. The program helps you make decisions (a la weather forecasts [discount 5 days]), generally unless you are a complete genius or a meticulous note taker you are going to find it tricky to keep track of players tendencies (these are all of the variables that help you to make a decision) on over 2+ tables (let alone 6-infinity). There may not be right and wrong ways of playing a hand, but there are certainly good and bad ways of playing most hands... Ultimately if you cant play a hand 'wrongly' then what would be the point of a strategy forum (every strategy you can opt for is right, yey:nana:nana)?? A lot of the time this forum is like trying to explain to my granny why she needs a digital radio.
  9. Re: quick odds question....

Really? It does seem familar somehow. Must have slipped my mind :lol I've had pocket Aces 13 times more than J7o (my least dealt hand), still pretty small sample size thoug
    prepare for downswing :loon
  10. Re: River Play

Fcuk me The Mole only gave his opinion if you disagree so what. Either take it on board on discard it.
ill give you a hand here...this is what i objected to, not his opinion on the hand.
If this is the way you play (abc) you must find it tough to win, i would love to be at the same table as you guys as i would be taking most the pots off you (with shit) a simple raise and you fold 2 pair ideal.
Since this hand has created such debate would it be alright if i posted it on 2+2 AJ? just to get some more opinions.
  11. Re: River Play

WCISARD, If you had ANY idea about the Mole you'd know that he got to 25/50 FROM the micro stakes games.
I dont think this is relevent as games have changed over time (bad players are mostly loose-passive pre flop and on the flop and TAG afterwards. I look at peoples opinions objectively and without bias. I disagree with him on this hand, and its starting to seem like that isnt allowed. As for the god complex thing, maybe a little over the top but i didnt like the comment, it would be a little bit sad if a winning 25/50 player couldnt outmaneuvre a .25/.50 player wouldnt it? So whats to brag about... In my opinion he played the hand pretty badly, in moles he played it perfectly, lets move on... PS dont stack off in unraised pots (especially in MSNL) without the [near] nuts...
  12. Re: River Play

Do you play poker dog? if so what level/variant/site/years experience etc Its not a leading question, it is just that I have never seen you in any PL games or live tourneys/meets so I just wondered what you were upto.
I play in the very same games the hand came from, i play mainly .10/.20 and .25/.50 NLHE and PLO, im a student and ive been playing for 2/3 years now on and off without, started 'grinding' .05/.1 in june and im doing okay. I mostly play betfair, i like the software (when it isnt lagging) and its pretty much the only site that i can get 6 tables on my shitty little flat screen with.
  13. Re: River Play

Dog and nade suggest betting less on the river and if raised fold, my god i think this is bonkers, the only hands he is probably losing to is 66 or A6 ( if you follow the story of the hand) , If i played as you suggest i would be folding the best hand often. If this is the way you play (abc) you must find it tough to win, i would love to be at the same table as you guys as i would be taking most the pots off you (with shit) a simple raise and you fold 2 pair ideal. The other guy could be a good player and senses your bet is weak on the river, but is also aware you have him beat so he pushes to represent the 6 You must get away from standard ABC poker if you want to progress and move up the levels. As for your play AJ it was fine so dont get too annoyed about it, just ul as i said.
25/50 doesnt equal .10/.25 The game is completely different, this guy has A-rag so damn often when he limps in early and bet/calls that flop - and when he raises the river you are [very nearly] 100% beaten. Maybe as an aside you could play some .10/.25 and report back on the differences in play!! :nana
The other guy could be a good player and senses your bet is weak on the river, but is also aware you have him beat so he pushes to represent the 6
not down in the dungeons of poker, this happens like less than 0.000000001%, you lose your bankroll making crying calls this low down.
  14. Re: Was i slowrolled?

This aint HOLDEM ... Bloody right I would unless the board paired or a third flush card unless of course I had 2 as well. On that flop and those stakes Id have re-risen very hard on the flop.... Only a spade' date=' assuming I didnt have Ace or King and a spade kicker, would have scared me. If there is none and no pair on the board then Im all in after the turn. Important thing is you MUST PLAY TWO of your cards so after the flop - I ACTUALLY HAVE THE NUTS with 6,7 :ok[/quote'] you misunderstand me, or i dont communicate well on a message board. What i mean is, you are saying we both played it a bit iffy but in my defence - imo (and in yours by the sounds of it) he never has 67xx when he calls my flop and turn bets, so im never against 67xx and in his defense, most people are betting pot with 67xx on the flop and turn, so hes never against 67xx OBV exceptions are 67Ax spade draw to ace and possibly 67Ax heart draw if he wanted to get tricky by callin the raise on the flop. I raised for information on the flop, a lot of the time i get repotted by any 67 (including the ones with nut flush draws - people suck) and then i know whereabouts i am. PS. im no pro but i have 100k hands logged playing .5/.10 to .25/.50 PLO, so a little less of the :ok:ok and the 'talking to me like im 5' might be in order :loon
