Re: 5 Stages of Madness - The Remix (2011) RESULTS OF STAGE 1, SELECTION 1 BETS (A) Wolves 0:3 Everton :) (B) Gefle 2:0 Norrkoping :) © Alloa 1:0 Airdrie :@ (D) Rushden 2:2 Wrexham :) (E) Atl.Bilbao 0:3 Real Madrid :) (F) Dinamo Zagreb 1:0 NK Lokomotiva :) (G) Athlone Town 0:4 Shelbourne :) (H) Swansea City 3:0 Norwich City :) (I) Barcelona 3:1 Almeria :@ (J) Palmeiras 2:0 Gremio :) Won 8 of 10 bets (80%) Average odds: 1.42 (70.5% expected chance) Now the selection 1 bets are out of the way, the selection 2 and 3 bets should become progressively easier as they require lower odds, and even more of a chance of success. I will be looking at average odds of around 1.28-1.35 (74%-78% chance) for the selection 2 bets, leaving odds of just 1.05-1.12 (89%-95%) to be required for the 3rd selections.

Re: International Friendlies 17-18th Nov Iran vs FYR Macedonia Match to be played at Tehran, Iran @ 1430 GMT *** I cannot find alot of news in advance of this match, but apparently Macedonia have taken a strong squad to face Iran, who themselves have an important match in just 4 days time against Jordan in the Asian Cup. Iran are still rebuilding their squad since failing to qualify for the World Cup. Iran boss, Afshin Ghotbi said recently "I just hope people have more patience with us and give the younger players a chance and put less pressure on them so that we can have a good national team in the future." Iran finished behind Saudi Arabia in the WC Qualifiers, and from what I saw of a match between the Saudi's and Bahrain recently, the quality of football was far from inpirational. As far as the world rankings are concerned, Iran and Macedonia are closely matched. However, Iran's recent results are nothing to get excited about - a tight 1:0 win over Jordan last week who are ranked 66 places below Iran (128th), and a 4:2 thrashing from Bahrain (ranked 1 place above, see paragraph above) leave me wondering why they are priced as favorites here. On the other hand, Macedonia, have performed quite well of late, beating Qatar 2:1, Canada 3:0 (albeit for Canada missing 2 penalties), and narrowly losing to the far superior Scotland and Norway. I'm not saying Macedonia are world class by any means, but I think they are set to give Iran a much cloer match than the odds imply, and should be considered great value for the Macedonia win @ 3.90 (Bet.fair). :hope

Re: International Friendlies 17-18th Nov South Korea vs Serbia Match to be played at Craven Cottage, London @ 1430 GMT *** Serbia have a strong squad and will want to prove a point against fellow WC2010 qualifiers today. Nemanja Vidic is set to play in order to help gain match fitness. However, Stankovic and Pantelic are set to be rested for this match. South Korean striker Park Chu-young is injured and five domestic players – goalkeeper Jung Sung-ryeong, defender Kwak Tae-hwi and midfielders Kim Jung-woo, Kim Chi-woo and Ki Sung-yong have returned home to play in the K-League’s end of season championship play-off series. South Korea only managed a 0:0 draw against Denmark last week, and I rate Serbia as a stronger outfit than the Danes. For me, the value must be on the Serbia win @ 2.74 :hope

Re: Tennis W/C 9th November
Whatta hunk! Nah, thanks Radek :clapSexy Radek:D -
Re: Tennis W/C 9th November Paris TMS Indoor Hard, Court 1 12/11/2009 *** Andy Murray vs Radek Stepanek
- Andy Murray finished his last game at around 2am this morning, after 3 long sets with James Blake, while Radek played earlier in the day and played just 16 games in defeating Troicki.
- Match is to be played on Court 1, same as Radek's last game, which should help him acheive faster, lower serves and make it harder for a tired Murray to return.
- Murray doesn't have a great deal to play for in terms of season points etc. Radek doesn't either really, but is always determined to get back into the top 10 rankings.
While the H2H reads 3:0 Murray, I see the value here being with Radek, and will be placing my 'free money' from the Tsonga v Simon match on this one. Lay Andy Murray @ 1.29 (Bet.Fair) :hope

Re: Tennis W/C 9th November
Hopefully it will prove to be the next best thing to 'free money', providing Simon completes the first set (depending on bookies' rules). I also read about the MRI scan results, and he has to be real careful on the knee to avoid serious damage. If he had any sense, he shouldn't even play this match (in which case my bet is void), but if he does and retires after the first set, then like I said, this should be a dead-cert! He lso needs to take it steady as he looking forward to playing in Brisbane in the New Year, which isn't very far away now. Back Jo-Wilfried Tsonga @ 1.32 :hopeHopefully Simon will retire in the 2nd set and we'll both be OK:D -
Re: Tennis W/C 9th November
Well Done mate (and well done, Julien Benneteau). Cracking little win for you there :clapBreak up now *2-1. Need 4 more games! Would be so sad if lost this bet after match be so close:sad -
Re: Tennis W/C 9th November Paris TMS Indoor Hard, Court 1 11/11/2009 *** Tommy Robredo vs Tomas Berdych Not alot in this match-up really, so not alot of thorough reasoning. however,
- Robredo is higher-ranked of the two
- Robredo struggled against a challenger-level player in previous round
- Although the faster of the 2 courts, Court 1 is playing rather slow, which should suit Tommy Robredo
With this in mind, I'm going for the value pick in Tommy Robredo Back Tommy Robredo @ 2.66 (Bet.Fair) :hope

Re: Tennis W/C 9th November Set 1 goes to Haas. 7:5 Clement's 1st serve stats have been poor in the 1st set, only 51% 1st serve success. Haas's hasn't been much better, at 60%. But, if Haas can improve on his 2nd serve stats, he should win this.

Re: Tennis W/C 9th November Winner of the Gonzalez v Isner match 'should' be prepared to play Juan Martin del Potro in the 3rd round (if he beats Safin), followed by either A.Murray , R.Stepanek, J.Blake or V.Troicki in the 4th. A big ask for Gonzalez if he wants to pick up serious points.
-
Re: Tennis W/C 9th November Paris TMS Indoor Hard, Court 1 11/11/2009 *** Fernando Gonzalez vs John Isner
- John Isner is a giant 6'9" and has a good serve and forehand abilities
- Isner defeated F.Gonzalez only last week over 3 sets (Isner winning a TB 7-3)
- Fernando Gonzalez may not be too interested in this tournament, as he needs to make at least the Final to stand a chance of playing at London. With the odds being so low on him acheiving this, he may not be too interested intoday's match
- On the other hand, John Isner needs to get as many points as poss from this tournament in order to be seeded at the Aussie Open - He acheives the required 32nd in the race if he wins this match.
- As this is scheduled for Court 1, it should favour Isner, as it is said to be faster than Centre Court, with less of a bounce.
With all this in mind, a small/medium back of the American is in order for me... Back John Isner @ 2.94 (Bet.Fair) :hope
