  1. Week 12 Results

Picks 5 Won 2 Lost 3, Staked 30 points, Returned Nil points for a loss of 30.00 points.

    ATS YTD record

    Picks 60 = W30 D4 L26 – staked 360.00 points – returned 780.09 points resulting in a 2023 seasonal profit of +420.09 points

    1. Dolphins to win ATS -10.0 points @ 10/11 – FRIDAY NIGHT – Jets outgunned by Dolphins 34-13 = WON

The Jets offence has been dreadful all season. Dropping Zach Wilson was inevitable. Replacement Tim Boyle a 29 year old journeyman was a back-up for Wilson (so he must be horrendous). Boyle has had three NFL starts which came in 2021 for the Lions; he went 0-3 with three touchdowns and six interceptions. Miami who are ranked first in passing and second in rushing should win this easily, though keeping players safe and healthy will be their main objective. Dolphins won easily.

    2. Lions to win ATS -7.50 points @ 10/11 - THURSDAY NIGHT – Packers win straight up 29-22 = LOST

The Lions are ranked fourth in passing yards per game and fifth in rushing yards per game take on a mediocre Packers team. It’s Goff versus Jordan Love. Goff will not play like he did in week 11. Unfortunately he did! Jared Goff lost three fumbles, including one that was returned for a Packers TD in the first quarter. Goff now has six turnovers over his past two games.

    3. Colts to win ATS -2.5 points @ 10/11 – Colts win 27-20 = WON

Whilst the Bucs have been competitive, they are 2-6 in their last eight games. The Colts main weakness is against rushing teams, however the Bucs are dead last in rushing yards per game. Home advantage should enable the Colts to go 6-5. The Colts gave Baker Mayfield, nightmares sacking him six times.

     4. Saints to win on Moneyline @ 10/11 – Falcons beat Saints 24-15 = LOST

Desmond Ridder returns as the starting QB for the Falcons. The second-year quarterback was previously benched because of his inability to avoid turnovers and sacks. Turnovers are the Falcons problem, including Ridder’s six interceptions and seven fumbles. He has been sacked 25 times. It doesn’t help when Saints QB Derek Carr gives away a 92-yard pick-six. The Saints offence was the problem. The Saints made five trips into the red zone and they came away with zero touchdowns

     5. Patriots to win ATS -3.0 points @ 5/6 – Worst game ever, Giants win 10-7 = LOST

I must be losing it, picking the Patriots to win a game on the road.  However, the Patriots coming off of a bye week will feast on the Giants QB Tommy Devito. He took nine sacks against the Commanders on Sunday. Bill Belichick’s time at New England is coming to an end.

  2. Week 12 Picks

    1. Dolphins to win ATS -10.0 points @ 10/11 – FRIDAY NIGHT

The Jets offence has been dreadful all season. Dropping Zach Wilson was inevitable. Replacement Tim Boyle a 29 year old journeyman was a back-up for Wilson (so he must be horrendous). 3. Colts to win ATS -2.5 points @ 10/11

  3. Week 11 Results

The week 11 bet was over when Joe Burrow picked up a season ending injury when giving the Bengals a 10-7 lead against the Ravens. Without Burrow in the second half the Ravens were able to win at their leisure. Cowboys and Browns win but the Lions lost ATS and the Titans played like a team that has given up for the season.

Picks 5 Won 2 Lost 3, Staked 30 points, Returned Nil points for a loss of 30.00 points.

    ATS YTD record

    Picks 55 = W28 D4 L23 – staked 330.00 points – returned 780.09 points resulting in a 2023 seasonal profit of +450.09 points

49Ers, Dolphins, Bills, Commanders and Chargers all appear nailed on this week according to the pundits. However this is the NFL and surprises do and will happen. I would not be surprised to see 2+ upsets ATS, so I have purposefully avoided these games. I was happy to avoid the three upsets involving the Dolphins, Commanders and Chargers.

    1. Bengals to win ATS +3.5 points @ 10/11 – THURSDAY NIGHT = Burrow injury scuppers bet. Ravens win 34-20, - LOST

Defeat against the Texans last week, makes this a must win game for the Bengals. Injuries to key players in the Ravens line up helps the Bengals cause. Injury to Joe Burrow puts paid to the Bengals chances.

    2. Titans to win ATS +7.0 points @ 10/11 = Titans poor losing 34-14 - LOST

The Titans are an extremely physical team. Just the type of team Trevor Lawrence hates to play. It is time for Derrick Henry to show his talent. What shocking performance from the Titans. Derrick Henry is a mere shadow of his former self. Are they losing to get a top draft pick?

    3. Dallas Cowboys to win ATS -10.5 points @ 10/11 = Cowboys easy win 33-10 - WON

Dallas has a habit of beating up on bad teams and the Panthers are bad (1-8).  Dallas should win big. They did, the Panthers are bad.

    4. Browns to win ATS -1.0 points @ 10/11 = Browns win 13-10 - WON

Despite winning for me last week, the Steelers are by far the luckiest team in the NFl.  However their best form comes at home. The Browns also excel at home (4-1), with their one loss coming against the Ravens when their QB was injured. The Steelers luck will run out this week. Browns win an ugly game.

    5. Lions to win ATS -7.5 points @ 10/11 = Lions won by 5 (31-26) - LOST

Even with Justin Fields back, I cannot see how the Bears keep this close. The Lions are better in all positions. Jared Goff the Lions QB is usually “Mr reliable” but was terrible for most of the game giving away 3 turnovers. But in the final four minutes he was able to lead the Lions to victory taking the Lions down the field to score two touchdowns. Pure class by Goff.

  4. Week 11 Picks

49Ers, Dolphins, Bills, Commanders and Chargers all appear nailed on this week according to the pundits. However this is the NFL and surprises do and will happen. I would not be surprised to see 2+ upsets ATS, so I have purposefully avoided these games.

Even with Justin Fields back, I cannot see how the Bears keep this close. The Lions are better in all positions.

  5. Week 10 Results

Week 10 was a fairly average week with two winners (49Ers and Steelers), one draw (Lions) and two losers (Bengals and Saints).

Picks 5 Won 2 Drew 1 Lost 2, Staked 30 points, Returned 3.50 points for a loss of 26.50 points.

    ATS YTD record

    Picks 50 = W26 D4 L20 – staked 300.00 points – returned 780.09 points resulting in a 2023 seasonal profit of +480.09 points

    1. 49Ers ATS -3.0 points @ 10/11 - 49Ers win easily 34-3. WON

After week 5 the 49Ers were 5-0 and top of most power rankings. With players due back after a break week, I expect to see a rejuvenated 49Ers team. 49Ers back to form. With their best players available the 49Ers appear bound for the Super Bowl.

    2. Lions to win ATS -3.0 points @ 10/11 – Lions win 41-38. DRAW

The Lions continue to excel. The Chargers are one dimensional and struggled to beat the Jets. What a game. Lions nearly gave the game away in the final quarter.

    3. Steelers to win ATS -3.0 points @ 5/6 – Steelers win by four 23-19. WON

The Steelers are hard to beat. I can’t image Jordan Love having a comfortable time in Pittsburg. Somehow the Steelers eek out a win.

     4. Bengals to win ATS -7.0 points @ 1/1 – Bengals come a cropper losing 27-30. LOST

Last week rookie QB C.J.Stroud had a record breaking performance. It will be difficult for him to repeat particularly in the “Jungle”. Joe Burrow will show who is, the elite QB. Rookie outshines Burrow. I underestimated the kid.

    5. Saints to win ATS -2.5 points @ 5/6 – Vikings win 27-19. LOST

Vikings stand in QB Joshua Dobbs had a fairy tale debut beating the Falcons. He will not find it so easy against the Saints. The fairy tale continues.

  6. Week 10 Picks

    1. 49Ers ATS -3.0 points @ 10/11

After week 5 the 49Ers were 5-0 and top of most power rankings. Injuries to Debo Samuels, Christian McCaffrey and others, has seen the 49Er’s stutter recently. With players due back after a break week, I expect to see a rejuvenated 49Ers team.

    2. Lions to win ATS -3.0 points @ 10/11

The Lions continue to excel. The Chargers are one dimensional and struggled to beat the Jets.

    3. Steelers to win ATS -3.0 points @ 5/6

The Steelers are hard to beat. I can’t image Jordan Love having a comfortable time in Pittsburg.

     4. Bengals to win ATS -7.0 points @ 1/1

Last week rookie QB C.J.Stroud had a record breaking performance. It will be difficult for him to repeat particularly in the “Jungle”. Joe Burrow will show who is, the elite QB.

    5. Saints to win ATS -2.5 points @ 5/6

Vikings stand in QB Joshua Dobbs had a fairy tale debut beating the Falcons. He will not find it so easy against the Saints.

  7. Week 9 Results

Close but no cigar it could have been oh so different. Browns (27-0) and Raiders (30-6) easily beat the spread. The Saints won by seven but this could easily have been ten. In the final minutes a Saints field goal attempt came back off the upright. Tampa Bay just lost to Houston Bay 39-37, with C.J. Stroud, throwing TD pass with just six seconds left to seal the win. Finally, The Patriots led 17-10 before succumbing to a 17-20 defeat.

Picks 5 Won 2 Lost 3, Staked 30 points, Returned Nil points for a loss of 30.00 points.

    ATS YTD record

    Picks 45 = W24 D3 L18 - staked 270.00 points – returned 776.59 points resulting in a 2023 seasonal profit of +506.59 points

    1. New England Patriots to win ATS -3.5 points @ Evens - Patriots lose 20-17 = LOST

The Patriots have a 2-6 record but these losses have been against above average teams (Dolphins (twice), Eagles, Saints and Cowboys). Washington has recently sold their best two players and their young QB has been sacked 40 times already this season. The Patriots defence will feast. Even when the Patriots offense has been struggling, the defence has usually still been good, but not in this game.

    2. Browns to win ATS -8.0 points @ 10/11 - Browns win 27-0 = WON

The tough Browns team are at home in the cold against a poor Arizona Cardinals team. The Cardinals have one of the worst defences in the NFL. Easy win, The Browns surrendered just 58 yards.

     3. Las Vegas Raiders to win ATS -1.5 points @ 10/11 – Raiders win 30-6 = WON

    Week 7 results I wrote:

“The Raiders have some quality players including Davante Adams, Maxx Crosby, Jacobi Meyers, Roberts Spillane and Chandler Jones. If they play to their best they can make the playoffs. Raiders had an extremely poor performance. They are not playing for this manager”.

They have now sacked their manager and I am expecting these quality players to be fully motivated. As expected, the Raiders looked like a completely different team.

    4. Saints to win ATS -8.5 points @ 10/11 – Saints only win by seven = LOST

The Saints won for us last week, so I will roll with them again at home against the Bears. Saints won a game they should have won by double digits. Were they looking ahead and saving themselves for the Vikings game?

    5. Tampa Bay Bucs to win 5/4 Moneyline – Tampa lose 37-39 in a close one. = LOST

The Bucs have lost their last three games however these were against the Bills, Falcons and Lions, so no disgrace there. The Texans started the season well thanks to great plays by rookie QB C.J.Stroud. However with film now available teams are beginning to work him out. Tampa did not watch the films.  He broke the NFL rookie record by throwing for 470 yards. He also threw five TD passes.
