  1. Brigade of Guards - 1.05 Newbury (ew @ SP)

Ran a much better race on his first start over hurdles on his seasonal reappearance at Wincanton over two miles. Jumped pretty well on the whole but was outspeeded from two out. Kept to two miles for next outing he ran to a similar level but might not have appreciated the softer ground. Bred to stay well so a longer trip on better ground should bring further improvement.

  2. Calliope - 2.10 Catterick (ew @ SP)

Was given a ride that caught the attention of the stewards on her second hurdles start at Catterick. That race showed she has some ability and is fully expected to leave that form well behind during the rest of this season, although that will probably be when contesting handicaps better is expected today in what is not a strong race.

  3. Seaweed - 2.35 Plumpton @ SP

Ran well over c & d last time out where he tracked the leaders and went second after three out and looked to have every chance when not fluent 2 out. Only able to keep on at the one pace afterwards but should find a similar race with fewer mistakes.

  4. El Scorpio - 2.30 Warwick (ew @ SP)

Was stepped up to three miles for his last run at Bangor after a break and appeared to stay the trip despite being ridden as though that was in doubt. Not fluent at some of the hurdles he stayed on to finish 3rd. Kept to that trip at Southwell last time he was slightly disappointing and it will be interesting to see if connections persevere with him at the trip or revert to shorter, either way he is capable of finding a race and could pop up at a decent price.

  5. Remember Forever - 3.10 Font (ew @ 12/1 with Bet365)

Returned to form at Plumpton last time out after a break of a few months. Made headway before 3 out before the lack of a recent outing seemed to find him out and could only keep on at the one pace. Took advantage of his lower handicap and the fall of the favourite to win over two and a half miles at Lingfield but looked like his stamina gave out last time at Warwick so a drop back in trip could see him back in the winners enclosure

  6. Man of Plenty - 2.25 Sandown (ew @ SP)

Invariably finishes with a flourish at the end of his races no matter the distance. That was again the case when running over two miles at Cheltenham when he cane from a long way back to finish a never nearer fifth. Never got competitive over the same course and distance over the same track on next outing and that was the same story last time out at Newbury but still remains one to watch out for in big field handicap races."

  7. Flaming Charmer - 1.30 Wincanton (ew @ 12/1 with William Hill)

Made a pleasing seasonal reappearance at Sandown over three miles, was given plenty to do but stayed on well and duly stepped up on that when winning over a slightly shorter trip last time. Raced prominently on that occasion so will be interesting to see if those tactics are used again if stepping back up in trip. Either way should go close.

  8. Carroll’s Milan - 2.50 Ludlow (ew @ SP)

Had made a satisfactory debut in a bumper last season and did so again on seasonal reappearance and hurdles debut at Perth over two and a half miles. Was prominent throughout but weakened after making a mistake 3 out and kept on at the one pace. Ran to a similar level at Market Rasen last time in finishing 4th and a similar race can be hers in the coming months perhaps when switching to a handicap.

  9. Annie Bonny - 12.35 War (ew @ 18/1 with Bet365)

Had won a maiden point ahead of her rules debut over hurdles at Ffos Las and shaped promisingly in finishing fifth. Was held up in the early part of the race but made headway from three out and stayed on steadily all the way to the line. Last time out at Ludlow she contested a class 2 and was not disgraced in finishing third despite never looking like winning. She will improve and connections can find small race for her.

  10. Sirobbie - 1.00 Ling ew @ 40/1 with Bet365

Ran with promise in both bumpers last season and went straight over hurdles when returning to action. Hurdling career didn’t get off to the best of starts when a mistake at the first saw him unseat his rider so easy to put a line through that effort. Is capable of winning over hurdles at a modest level and next run should reveal more.

  11. Court Frontier - 1.50 Exeter (ew @ 10/1 with Bet365)

Ran much better last time out over three miles at Sandown in a veterans chase on soft ground which he seemed to appreciate. Was held up off the pace and looked well beaten until staying on really well from after two out to be a never nearer third. Hopefully he can build on that run and a further success can’t be too far away.

  12. Bobo Mac - 2.25 Haydock (ew @ SP)

Ran a race full of promise, first run since a wind op,when finishing second over three miles at Newbury. Made headway from three out having raced in midfield and stayed on well all the way to the line. Could be up to winning soon based on that performance."
