  1. Storm Control 1.00 Carlisle @ SP

Starts the season off as a highly promising maiden over hurdles although it may not be until he goes over fences that we will see the best of him. Three miles also seems sure to suit and could be a money spinner for connections this coming season.

  2. Tayzar - 1.30 Weth @ SP

Has still not learnt to settle in his races which is holding him back. Switched to fences for his latest run at Carlisle it was a similar story where still in with a chance despite when a mistake two out ruined any chance he had of making the frame. One to keep an eye on.

  3. Dorking Cock - 12.40 Aintree (ew @ 22/1 with Bet365)

Had shown something to build on when finishing 4th in a bumper last season, was a little disappointing on seasonal re-appearance over hurdles at Fontwell. Carefull at the hurdles early on and got badly outpaced when the pace quickened. Did stay on again in pleasing style and with improvement on the cards is very much one to keep an eye on.

  4. Mellow Ben - 3.10 Chelt (ew at 33/1 with Bet365)

Has been in good form in recent months and looked like continuing in the same vein when coming to grief four out in a handicap hurdle at Fontwell. Was still travelling well, having been settled out the back, and not been asked any sort of question when departing and compensation can’t be far away. Big price today.

  5. Permission Granted - 4.10 Carlisle  @ 16/1 with Bet365.

Improved on re-appearance run when finishing a never nearer third over two and a half miles at Kelso last time out. Was settled out the back of the main group and stayed on strongly, stiff uphill finish here might help.

  6. A Little Chaos - 5.10 Font @ SP

Made a pleasing rules debut in a bumper at this course before weakening out of contention from two out. Given her breeding, more speed than stamina, the extended two miles probably found her out. A return to the same course over shorter against her own sex could bring rewards."

  7. Apologies to the scorer for forgetting to include the race time with today’s selection.

For Day 2 will go with the following:

    South 5.10 - Undefined Beauty @ 9/4 with Bet365.

Won twice last year and been running creditably this summer without winning. Ran well last time despite not being suited by the steady pace. A stronger gallop will help and could see her back in the winners enclosure.
