  1. Cushuish - 2.50 Exeter (ew @ 33/1 with Bet365)

Appeared to be done for pace on her hurdles debut at Taunton, never travelling in rear but stayed on well after the last flight to be a never nearer 4th. Has been kept to the same track for two latest efforts, firstly over the same distance where it was a similar story although her jumping was not as good. Stepped up slightly in trip last time but unseated her rider early after veering left. Hopefully that was just a one off as she should be capable of improving on what she has done so far when tackling longer trips in mares only races.

  2. Almost Gold - 1.00 Mkt Rasen (ew @ SP)

Returned from a break of eight months to make his handicap debut over two and a half miles at Hereford and finished well to take third place. Built on that return when winning a four runner event at Doncaster as he was entitled to. Was a big disappointment last time at Ascot but that was on much softer ground and he should be getting back on track when faced with better ground.

  3. Wind Place and Sho - 1.20 Fontwell (ew @ 12/1 with Bet Victor)

Hasn’t added to his earlier win at Fontwell but been running well enough to suggest he is still in form. Should have won returned to that track on his next outing, given far too much to do. Never sighted then at Wetherby when softer ground could have been the problem but ran better last time at Fakenham where the tight track didn’t help his hold up tactics. Hopefully he can get back to winning ways today.

  4. Mellow Ben - 2.40 Kempton ( ew @ SP)

Has been in good form in recent months and looked like continuing in the same vein when coming to grief four out in a handicap hurdle at Fontwell. Was still travelling well, having been settled out the back, and not been asked any sort of question when departing. Has run with credit twice since at Cheltenham and ran another good race last time at Kempton where a mistake at the last may have cost him the race. Hopefully he can regain the winning thread before too long.

  5. Panic and Run - 1.00 Hunt (ew @ 12/1 with William Hill)

Was held up over two miles on his reappearance run at Ludlow after a lengthy absence. It was his hurdles debut and first run for this yard and ran with promise for the future but failed to build on that next time at Hereford and it was a similar story last time at Leicester but made a couple of mistakes which didn’t help. Remains one to keep an eye on especially now contesting handicaps.

  6. Flashing Glance - 2.20 Leicester @ SP

Was running a sound race in a big field handicap hurdle at Sandown and battling for a place when badly hampered and unseating the rider. Was stepped up slightly in trip last time at Hereford and appeared to find the trip on heavy ground too much as he weakened two out although he did not jump well which didn’t help his cause. Better ground than was the case on the last two occasions would help but a race should be his before much longer possibly back over today’s trip.

  7. Arcade Attraction - 1.45 Taunton (ew @ 10/1 with William Hill)

Stepped up on his hurdles debut at Ludlow last time when finishing third over two miles. Pulled hard in the early stages of the race before making headway from three out. Stayed on after the last without really troubling the front two. Should continue to progress and has a similar race in him.

  8. Cracking Destiny - 1.10 Bangor @ SP

Was very backward last season, failing to see his races out on more than one occasion. A yard switch has yet to improve things but is no forlorn hope. His second effort at Bangor saw him make rapid headway to lead at the fourth only to weaken quickly after three out. Handicap debut, in an ordinary race, over further was a little better in finishing a close up third to suggest that a similar race could be his in the coming weeks. Makes chase debut today and as an Irish Point Winner could be interesting.

  9. Dessies Diamond - 1.40 Chepstow (ew @ 33/1 with Bet365)

Didn’t jump that well on hurdles debut at Warwick but was much better last time at Southwell. He raced keenly before weakening two out and hung slightly in the home straight but should improve as he gains experience and is up to winning over hurdles for connections.

  10. Baddesley Prince - 12.40 Plumpton (ew @ SP)

Had just one run in a bumper before being switched to hurdles for his second run and put up a better performance at a massive price. Was held up before making headway into midfield after three out before staying at the one pace. Failed to build on that at Bangor but heavy ground may have been partly to blame for that so still remains capable of better.

  11. Colditz Castle- 3.50 Wincanton (ew @ 16/1 with Bet365)

Made an unfortunate start to his hurdling career when getting badly hampered and unseating his rider in a race at Taunton whilst still travelling well enough. Hopefully the experience won’t have left its mark and he can show more this time.

  12. Sliding Doors- 1.45 Ludlow @ SP

Ran well on his first outing for several months when finishing 3rd on his reappearance run at Aintree over three miles. Made headway from four out but a mistake at the next flight cost him momentum and he couldn’t get to the front two. Went to Cheltenham for his last outing but the drop in trip found him lacking the pace to get competitive so a step back up in distance should see an improved performance.

  13. Cushuish - 1.15 Taunton (ew @ 100/1 with Bet365)

May have been done for pace on her hurdles debut at Taunton as she was never travelling in rear but stayed on well after the last flight to be a never nearer 4th. Kept to the same distance for second run again at Taunton where it was a similar story although her jumping was not as good.Should be capable of leaving the bare form of these two efforts behind when tackling longer trips in mares only races.

  14. Moyhenna - 1.00 Limerick @ 6/4 with Bet365

Looks like making a nice chaser given her decent hurdles form and her debut run did nothing to dispel that. The trip of two miles was always going to be too short but jumped well enough before keeping on at the one pace. Bred to stay well and trips in excess of two and a half miles should suit and is one to look out for in mares novice chases.

  15. The Vollan - 1.25 Leic (ew @ 50/1 with Paddy Power)

Seems to slowly getting the hang of jumping hurdles and his latest effort was his best yet. Was held up well in the rear before making progress into midfield before getting outpaced. Will be one for handicaps over more than two miles and is up to winning a race or two. Place claims at big odds today.

  16. Jenny’s Surprise- 2.50 Chepstow (ew @ 33/1 with Bet365)

She proved to be on good terms with herself on seasonal return at Lingfield over a much shorter trip when rallying to get up close home. This sort of trip should be right up her street and a big run is expected at big odds.

Has been in good form in recent months and looked like continuing in the same vein when coming to grief four out in a handicap hurdle at Fontwell. Has run with credit twice since at Cheltenham and should be able to regain the winning thread before too long. Flatter track could help.
