4.55 Downpatrick Schindler's Society - 2m 7f handicap chase for runners rated 0-95 here. Field of 15 go to post and should be competitive but Schindler's Society has been running with credit recently with form figures of 43 this season and looks as if he will benefit from the fitting of first time cheekpieces. Won't be around to take a price (trading around 6/1 tonight on BF) so for the purposes of the comp, 1 pt win at SP.

Re: BBOTD - 22nd September Goodwood - 4:55 After studying the card there are two runners that I like and it's hard to choose between the two, but the slightly favourable 12f sire statistics for Mabuya (Halling) outweigh the shorter priced King's Troop (Bertolini), However, this is the first time I have used these tactics to select a horse. Looking at both horses recent records, King's Troop has performed strongly in his last 5 races, although in lesser class. Mabuya has ran the same class as today in three of his last six races. Both are recent victors over the distance. Both drop significant weight today, but I believe Mabuya's drop back in distance from 14f to 12f will be of benefit and is providing value in his current price after he finished 5th of five LTO. The fact that he won his 12f race just 16 days before that is also a big plus. 14/1 ew - bog (VC BET)
