When reading the Peter Michael interview posted a few weeks back it was interesting to read how much emphasis was placed on the going. There are plenty of stats that you can apply to each horse, does anyone have one key area that is a must for them when tying to pick a winner? I must admit going and the course are the first thing I look for, not that this helps me a lot :wall

Re: What is the first thing you look for? For handicaps it's the combination of distance/going/track After crossing out the ones that I don't think will be suited I then go to class and handicap marks for the ones that are left.
