Re: York (Ebor Festival - Day 4) - Friday 20th August Putting mine up early 1.45 Moose Moran EW 25/1 Stan James This horse is carrying a lot of weight which is a worry but I still think 25s is massive. Ran decent enough LTO plugging on well at Royal Ascot over 2m when Mikael Glinka won his Group 3. Was fifth that day and 3/4lengths behind Corsica who went on to win a Group 3 too. Drop back in trip here may just suit. The handicapper really has taken no chances but can still run well from a low draw. 2.15 Rainbow Peak WIN 7/4 Laddies Classy horse who I backed heavily at Ascot when winning a listed race (easily beating Kings Gambit that day). Still highly progressive and highly thought of. Has an entry in a Group 1 in October and this seems to be yet another stepping stone. Won over this distance before although shorter from last impressive win, but no concern and the race is all about 1 horse imo. 3.25 Starspangledbanner WIN 2/1 Hills Another horse I backed at Ascot and again at Newmarket where he just beat Equiano over 6f. This is over the minimum but SSB is all about speed and think this will suit. Equiano has had a great season and is definately respected here, with probably a better draw, but after SSBs let down on debut for O'Brien he has been so impressive and the yard talk him up all the time. Happy to take 2/1 here.
