Fate pointing to Hanagan

Recommended Posts

Sickness bug ruled Paul Hanagan out of riding yesterday, forcing him to forfeit the vast majority of his rides to understudy at the Fahey yard Tony Hamilton. Maybe missing 11 rides wasnt so bad when you consider what happened to Hamilton: Hamilton breaks pelvis in three places in Ayr fall By Peter Scargill 8:52AM 8 AUG 2010 TONY HAMILTON is facing surgery after the jockey broke his pelvis in three places when his mount Flying Statesman reared over and landed on him at Ayr on Saturday night. 19134.jpg Tony Hamilton: crushed by mount PICTURE: Mark Cranham Hamilton had replaced the ill Paul Hanagan on the Richard Fahey-trained three-year-old, who reared up and dropped the jockey before falling on him before the start of the 7f claimer. The jockey was quickly checked by medical staff at the course before being taken to Ayr hospital where the severity of his injury was revealed. His agent, Richard Hale, said on Sunday morning: "Tony has broken his pelvis in three places and looks like he's going to need surgery. "He said they're not sure about surgery but by the sounds of it he'll probably need it, he's on plenty of drugs and will be in a lot a pain." Hale added: "He's going for a CT scan today to check his back and make sure they haven't missed anything." Hamilton, who rides as second jockey to Paul Hanagan at Richard Fahey's stable, has ridden 29 winners this season. http://www.racingpost.com/news/horse-racing/tony-hamilton-hamilton-break-pelvis-in-three-places-in-ayr-fall/752622/ Very unfortunate, and hope he's on the mend soon.
