Newbury 09/07

18:50 Newbury Vinces can improve on his Folkstone second and win tonight. Up in class tonight but that shouldn't be too much of a problem tonight. Was beaten by Beaubrav a couple of starts ago but valid excuses for that and Vinces next effort was far superior. The one negative from that run was that Vinces didn't seem to stay, so the step down in trip tonight should help to alleviate that concern. Hayley Turner is a positive jockey booking, although she hasn't rode many winners recently. A few questions to be answered with this horse, but at a decent mark now and will have a go. Vinces: 0.4pt EW @ 6/1 VC 19:20 Newbury I like Spa's Dancer but it's not a good enough price in the market in a race such as this to be of interest to myself, as it's a very open race. I do like the chances of the Brian Meehan Signor Verdi and will have a small bet on this 3yo colt. Only had four races so far, and impressed me with his second run at Kempton over 1m in maiden company, swooping down the outside for a nice victory, much improving on his first run as a 2yo. Dropped into handicap company on a mark of 84 which was a little bit harsh perhaps, and was held up near the back before being hampered. Did little after that hampering but that's a viable excuse anyway. Stepped up 2f for a run at Sandown and visibly did not stay. Stepped down in trip back to the mile and if getting a clear run, can possibly be competitive tonight. Meehan and Dwyer have success together and Meehan's handicappers have done well this season. This one is a massive price and a definite bet. Signor Verdi : 0.25pts EW @ 28/1 Bet365 BOG

Re: Newbury 09/07 Agree with you Lars on Vinces but have got that one as a saver. Looking at those at the front of the market i think some are very skinny. Really cant see Beaubrav winning this when you look at his record on firmer ground, seems to need cut or the a.w to me and i wouldnt take him if he was 20/1. Spiritual Art and Lady Lam are stepped up in trip for the first time so have staying doubts. My pick is the front running Dancing Jest who may set a strong pace, which increases my doubts over Lady Lam and Spiritual Art winning this. Dancing Jest is only 4lb higher than winning first time out this year by 2 lengths. Trip and ground arent a worry and had excuses lto. She didnt get an easy lead then and was in a far stronger race than this. She's got a good draw in 4 here to bag the rail, with 1 a non runner and 2 & 3 likely to be held up. Vinces could possibly lead like he did last time out but that was over further and the first time he has led, however he's well handicapped and shown better form over this trip so i'll save on Vinces. Dancing Jest main bet at 12/1 Skybet.
