Johnny Murtagh was fortunate to escape serious injury after a horrific incident at the Curragh. He was partnering favourite Petronius Maximus in the opening juvenile maiden and was in front two furlongs out when the colt seemed to slip and crash through the rails. Murtagh was attended by medical staff but was able to walk back to the weighing room after treatment. Petronius Maximus also seemed to be OK.
