ASCOT, MAY 8TH SATURDAY

Recommended Posts

Going along to this meeting today so will hopefully be able to update the "paddock thread" at some stage on Sunday. A guest of a stable that has a few runners I can't flipping wait!! A couple of bets stand out for me. In the 1st race at 2.20 I think Duncan looks a good thing. Without knowing the prices however it is difficult to know whether he is a backable price. His 3/4 length defeat to Ask at Epsom last year looks easily good enough to land this prize. Gosden is in tremendous form, and the horse won on his seasonal debut last year. Barshiba looks the main danger and the one for the forecast. Apparently there is every chance there might be a draw bias on the course tomorrow, and rain is forecast for the morning, so it probably will pay to forgo an early price in order to see the first two races. It has been suggested that the those drawn high in the Victoria Cup may prove to be disadvantaged. This is of course entirely speculative but should be considered. Castles in the Sky looked progressive last time and of those drawn low might be the one to be on. From the middle Dhular Dhar ticks a lot of boxes, whilst of those drawn high I like One Way Or Another. Hope to have a cracking day.....:hope
