3.20 Beverley Mark johnston's runners continued in good form at HQ over the weekend and he returns Mannlichen to turf after a whurl on the ice in switzerland without much success but before that he was burning fingers on the AW twice getting turned over at short prices but the form suggest he is capable of winning of this mark, he remains reasonably lightly raced and although yet to show full colours on turf now could be his chance. The other interesting runner is King Fingal shaped extremely well on seasonal reappearance in app handicap when second up 2lb for that but first 2 were well clear of rest of field how solid that form works out is yet to be seen but sure to come on for the run and useful app takes off 5lb today and is on his last winning mark but does need things to fall right! 0.5pt win Mannlichen 0.5pt win King Fingal

The High Chapparal mare has won around this track previously and has slipped to a good mark after defeat at the back end of last season. Nevertheless, she went well fresh first time out at Newcastle last term and could be primed for a big run at a price here. 9/1 Bet 365, EW
