Lingfield 10th March (AW)

Recommended Posts

3.00 Lingfield Interesting middle distance race Star Choice has been running well all winter and finally got in front last time out in a muddling 5 runner apprentice handicap over 2mile, step back in trip shouldnt be a problem and does go unpenalised but this is more competitive. Byblos might be open to more improvement than most of these having been lightly raced recently and after cutting no mustard over hurdles he was brought back to the flat in a weakish maiden over 1m3f at kempton and he probably did just run upto this mark and makes a return to handicap on a good enough mark and he may just have a little more to offer over this extended trip. 0.5pt e/w byblos 4.00 Lingfield An extremely tough handicap and extremely competitive with several of these in good form right now, Pha Mai Blue shaped as if coming back to hand after a 60 day rest on friday and if that is the case he is dangerously handicapped now 5lb lower than last CD win and he was extremely well back last time out to suggest he has been working well. 0.5pt e/w pha mai blue 5.00 Lingfield If this race is run to form it should be for pickings! Sherjawy has been running well of late but is 4lb out of the handicap and likely to find these 3 a bit too hot for him. Vhujon hasnt won over 5f since her first ever run in a maiden 4 years ago. Step it up has been running with much credit recently but wasnt hard pushed last time out and did stay on encouringangly, so that leaves Wotashirtful who is a speedy front runner and should finally get his bold chance infront again having contested a hot handicap last time out only 3/4l behind the ever improving Nickel Silver runs off same mark today. 2pt win Wotashirtful

Re: Lingfield 10th March (AW) 2.00 - Mnarani - ew @ 15/2 Stan james Only 6 runners, so 2 places I think this one is the best of the ones with a recent run, he's run well over this CD, stable in form and this is his second run back after a longish break, so he might come on a bit and should be race fit. The 2 favourites have similar profiles - both from big yards and having their first runs since running in group races last summer. You can hope that they won't both be race fit, although both yards have had winers with similar horses recently. You can also hope that the handicapper has overestimated one or both of them because they ran in a group race (both pretty well beaten)
