Hexham - 9th Dec

Recommended Posts

I was looking at a few stats and found that Graeme Lee has the best record at this track currently with 35 winners while Denis O'Regan is 3rd best here with 18 winners. 2 of the top trainers here are J Howard Johnson (20 wins) and Ferdy Murphy (17 wins). Looking at more recent stats over the last 14 days these trainers also feature as trainers in form, as do their stable jockeys: J Howard Johnson - 7 winners in last 14 days Ferdy Murphy - 6 winners in last 14 days Graeme Lee - 7 winners in last 14 days Denis O'Regan - 8 winners in last 14 days Sue Smith (Trainer) and Richard McGrath (Jockey) also have good records here but are not as good over the last 14 days. Having looked through the racecard for tomorrow at a glance I can see these trainers/jockeys coming away with more winners to add to these stats and their horses are as follows: 12.20 - Only The Best (Ferdy Murphy/Graeme Lee) 12.20 - What's Up Woody (J Howard Johnson/Denis O'Regan) 12.50 - Indian Groom (J Howard Johnson/Denis O'Regan) 12.50 - Catch Bob (Ferdy Murphy/Graeme Lee) 1.20 - Eco Story (J Howard Johnson/Gary Derwin (10lb claimer) ) 1.20 - Mole Control (J Howard Johnson/Denis O'Regan) 1.50 - Fast Forward (M Todhunter/Denis O'Regan) 1.50 - Nouveau Maire (Ferdy Murphy/Graeme Lee) 2.20 - Drever Route (J Howard Johnson/Denis O'Regan) 2.20 - Riguez Dancer (Ferdy Murphy/Graeme Lee) 2.50 - The Hollinwell (Ferdy Murphy/Graeme Lee) 2.50 - Abbeybraney (J Howard Johnson/Denis O'Regan) I would imagine a few of these will contest favouritism but it will be interesting to see what kind of returns there are to 1pt win singles for each selection. :ok

Re: Hexham - 9th Dec 12:50 Hexham Catch Bob looks a good bet here in a very tight handicap hurdle race. My selection won nicely over the distance LTO in a Class 3 handicap at Leicester. Travelled well throughout when being held up and stayed on well to win by 2 lengths. Runs off 7lbs higher today but should go on the ground conditions having won on Soft going and Yearling. Also had a good 2nd to Trafalgar Road at Haydock back at the start of last month in Heavy going. Was only beaten 2 and a quarter lengths and the winner has since ran a good 3rd in a Class 1 handicap hurdle race since off a mark of 126 (5lbs higher than the win at Haydock). Jockey and Trainer are in good form and also have good records at this track. Open De L'isle and John Forbes should be potential dangers having both won in the mud, they both won LTO so have penalties to carry as well. 1 pt win Catch Bob @ 9/2 (Paddy Power - BOG)

Re: Hexham - 9th Dec 13:50 Hexham Boris the Blade - A good hurdler where last 2 runs here on the hurdlers it won a class 3 and class 4. It has a 2/4 rate here on the hurdle course. 1/3 distance and 3/6 on going. Its chase form is 2 seconds out of 4 with one of the nowheres being its 1st run after a 6 month break. Dropped from a OR117 to 106 and a 3lb claimer on board. 0.5EW. Currently around 7's although 8's with skybet.

Re: Hexham - 9th Dec 12.20 Hexham: Qbuster 0.5pts e/w at current 10/1 Bet365 There are a couple of horses in the race that could be considered overpriced IMO given the short price of the Howard Johnson trained favourite. It may well be that the jolly romps in but due to it's prohibitive odds (shade of odds on currently), feel the value lies in an each way bet. Of the remainder Scottish Munros and Qbuster stand out as each way value. I will plump for Qbuster though - 2 efforts with current trainer this autumn round this track have been very promising, 3rd first effort on good ground before stepping up next time out round here when 2nd to King Fontaine on good to soft. Front pair finished miles clear that day and winner went on to win under a penalty next time out so the form of that race has a very solid look to it. If step up in trip brings about any further improvement then definitely has a chance of upsetting the short priced favourite and current price of 10/1 looks value in my opinion (may be because it isn't such a fashionable stable?!?!).
