best bet of the day - Sat 7th Nov

Recommended Posts

3.15 Doncaster In addition to the Wentworth that precedes it, the November Handicap also looks a really interesting and competitive race. Baila Me heads the market for Godolphin and with Frankie across the pond for the Breeders Cup, Ted Durcan is left in charge on this listed-level winner. She won in fine style at Lingfield when last seen and is open to more improvement, but there isn't much room for manoevre at the price in my opinion and I am passing over. Charm School acts at this track and was well fancied for the Lincoln here at the start of the season. He looked one paced over that mile trip, has come into his own since being stepped up in distance thereafter and looks a strong contender here. Nevertheless, I have a niggly doubt over whether he will get the race run to suit and at the price I am not willing to take a risk, so my bet is Tastahil. Barry Hills has enjoyed a wonderful season and it would be really fitting it he could cap it off with a high profile winner on the last day of the season. His gelding ran in this race last year when finishing third (but hampered). However, he gained compensation when winning over course and distance on his reappearance and he has held his form well since, twice placing in group company and landing a listed race at Newbury. Proven on soft ground he carries top-weight tomorrow, but there is no doubt he has improved since his last run in handicap company twelve months ago and I will take him each-way. 0.5 pt EW

Re: best bet of the day - Sat 7th Nov 15:15 Doncaster Very open contest this and took me a long time to finally pick something. Kings Destiny is a consistent horse and has won twice this season, once over the distance at Ripon and once at Leicester over 1m2f. Is 10lbs higher than his last win but has placed off a mark just 2lbs lower which was LTO at Ascot over the distance. That can be considered as a good 2nd as the field was fairly competitive that day and a few reoppose today. This trip is ideal for him and he handles the soft ground having won on Soft gound at Ripon. Three year olds have a good record in the race as well with 5 out the last 10 winners being aged 3. Double figure draw will be handy as well since 8 of the last 10 winners were drawn from double figures. He is still lightly raced with only 8 runs on turf to date (won 2 of those and placed on 3 other occasions) and 2 runs on the All Weather. Out of thiose 10 runs the lowest he has finished is 4th so he definately gives you a good run for your money. Seems quite versatile tactically as well since he has made all, tracked the leaders and been held up in his 3 wins so its hard to tell how he will approach the race today. Robinson takes the mount on him again today, he has won on him twice before so he should definately know how to win on him. 1 pt win
