voiceofjoe
OK, the new Betfair Schedule provides guaranteed Tourneys every 1/2 hour - and all the ones (in green below ) have provided overlay over the 2 days its been running. The problem is that they are (almost) all Turbos (5 min Blinds) or SuperTurbos (3 min Blinds) - there must be some techique to give yourself more success in these type of tourneys ? - as opposed to them being total luckfests ?? Anybody got any strategy for thes type of games ?? deadlydaveLDN
Re: New Betfair Schedule Overlays In turbos I would suggest playing tighter early on (ie less suited connectors/low pairs), and then more aggressively as the game goes on and the blinds/antes are so big in relation to stack sizes. GaF
Re: New Betfair Schedule Overlays Nice one VoJ :ok Can't help with the strategy I'm afraid - I'm useless at turbos - think I'm too tight and too weak - which implies the successful strategies should probably be loose and to value your own hands higher than normal (i.e. dont lay your hands down as much!). Of course that will cost you some of your edge over your opponents - but that's ok if an overlay gives you your value instead....
billy the punter
Re: New Betfair Schedule Overlays Pretty much what GaF say. You have to step up the loose-aggression, with the emphasis on the aggression obviously. You cannot fold to reraises as much as you would normally. You have to take more races than you'd like to. Chips in first is always key as there are plenty of players who will not have adapted. It's a pretty poor schedule in my opinion.
voiceofjoe
Re: New Betfair Schedule Overlays It's a pretty poor schedule in my opinion. totally agree with it being a poor schedule - do you think they favour the turbos/super turbos as Betfair is predominately a 'Betting Site' :\ I can't see why they can't through a couple of smaller BuyIn Standard Guarantees in there - every other hour
deadlydaveLDN
Re: New Betfair Schedule Overlays Pretty obvious why they do it. Tournaments go quicker = people play more tournaments = betfair make more rake. Obviously they may lose some money from "serious" players playing less, but I guess they've done the calculations + worked out the gains are greater than the losses. Not sure about that - I think they are getting bad advice. It's not as if these turbos have many runners.
