Re: Newmarket 17th Oct (Champions Day) My thoughts ;) 1.50 Newmarket Got it down to 3 I feel Arabian gleam is a danger with murtagh on board again, has won group2 race on soft ground last September and was a good enough 3rd last time out behind duff in a group2 event on fast ground and that was a at doncaster appears to keep all his best running for doncaster which is a worry. Go dolphin have 3 in this race but ashram looks the main danger with detorri on board having won a group 3 last year on fast ground has since been hit and miss but has finally find some consistency having won a condition race at kempton and then a listed event in good style at newbury over todays trip and fast ground and now takes the dip back into group company in good form! Cuis ghare looks a big price in my opinion with the ground drying out rapidly today with all her best runs coming on fast ground and always flopping in soft/heavy conditions so you can discount last run but was a fantastic 2nd in the 1000 guineas over the slightly longer trip and repeat of that would see her take this fairly well and with filly allowance receives weight all round solid chance. 1pt win cuis ghare 6/1 hills 1pt win ashram 4/1 bet365 2.25 Newmarket Favourites have a good record in this and so does bolger but im far from convinced about his runner today although it has been sold to godophin after todays race, but there is far more value in the race elsewhere. Awesome act beat a next time out group 3 winner and will get conditions to suit and a good draw. Beethoven pace setter I feel for Obrien team better at 6f Buzzword has been a model of consistency but worrying detori not taking ride??!!! Chabal looks to need a cut and looks awkward to win with coming well off pace Dick turpin looks a big price back on british soil after a bit of a flop in france and will need to forget that concern would be the quickening ground Fencing master Obrien third string Free judgement bolger second string prob just make sure decent pace set for fav High twelve poss 7f too short for awkward finisher but fallon on board and money is about for him after a good 4th in group2 contest at ascot Lord high admiral another Obrien second string Manhattan fox interesting detori has opted for him rather than buzzword but showed little promise in over CD in group 3 event. Maroon machine French raider unknown Silver Grecian won over CD on fast ground in group 2 in july and was then 3rd in similar event at doncaster, back at newmarket today tho. Steinbeck Obrien first string but won a good enough race at naas but over 6f on softer ground Timely jazz shown little at this level Xtension was second behind canford cliffs who is held in high regard, and then went on to win in extremely good style last time out when stepped up in trip quickening impressively!! 1pt e/w Xtension 7/1 bet365 0.5pt e/w Awesome Act 22/1 paddypower Will also stick the fav in the placepot lines. 3.00 Newmarket (champion stakes) Favourites don’t have a great strike rate here which is a concern for fame and glory Mawatheeq has been supplemented for this race after winning impressively last time out and looks well worth a tilt at a group 1 and a massive danger. Sariska is clearly not gonna get her ground major concern Fame and glory is clearly the form pick but wasn’t exactly special at Arc couple weeks ago and just hope can reignite fantastic form he has shown. Never on Sunday is a French runner who do well in this race lately and was a good 3rd behind vision detat at royal ascot and has solid group form. 1pt win fame and glory 13/8 bet365 0.25pt e/w never on Sunday 15/2 hills 0.5pt e/w mawatheeq 6/1 bet365 3.40 Newmarket (Cesarewitch) High draw is vital in this with bend coming so quickly in a big field! Got my list down to 6 and not going any lower than that. Yes Mr President drawn in stall 12, is yet to race this far but won well last time out at haydock on softer ground and only 4lb penalty to worry about. Swingkeel drawn stall 10 won valuable york handicap infront of the useful saga de tercey and was then third in a listed event at ascot back in handicap off 7lb higher mark and with fortune back in saddle! Ajaan drawn stall 31 has been running on soft ground lately but finally gets the fast ground it seems he needs today when last send on good ground he was second in valuable handicap at chester over a furlong further and does always run well round here! Dayia drawn 35 bounced back after a rest on the all weather last week and has real potential after winning 2 bumpers at start of career on good ground Alanbrooke drawn 13 has looked held lately and running well in trial to finish second and gets to run off same mark today. Woolfall treasure stall 21 and moore taking ride ran a good second last time out behind Kimberly downs who has let form down since but is dropped a 1lb here and moore in seating great chance. Only backing on bookmakers offering 5 places ¼ odds 0.25pt e/w woolfall treasure 20/1 bet365 0.25pt e/w alanbrooke 18/1 bet365 0.25pt e/w dayia 25/1 bet365 0.25pt e/w ajaan 22/1 bet365 0.25pt e/w swingkeel 12/1 bet365 0.25pt e/w yes mr president 20/1 bet365 4.50 Newmarket Ashalanda won a group 2 event in france and was 2nd last time out in italy will need to show improvement again but aga khan horses are in fine form. If ave takes to the step up in trip could be extremely dangerous after winning a group 3 event at gowran and will get the fast ground again. Crystal Capella is the one to beat on form having lost her un beaten record since maiden win in a French group1 this is far easier and prior to that beat dar re mi. 1pt win crystal capella 2/1 sj 0.5pt e/w ashalanda 6/1 lads 0.25pt e/w ave 8/1 pp 5.25 Newmarket Favourites have won this past 3 years and look to have a good chance again today with akmal who won 2 good handicaps and a listed event now enters group race and takes step up in trip which doesn’t look a problem in current form and fast ground to suit. Starfala is clearly in form of her life when second to minivier last time out in group 2 event under callan if in same mood solid chance. Oasis knight went well in listed event over this trip when running a little keen hopefully fallon can get her going more settled today and would be in with a squeak. 1pt win akmal 9/4 lads 0.25pt e/w starfala 10/1 sj 0.25pt e/w oasis knight 13/2 lads
