NBA Finals

Recommended Posts

Pretty early but Lads have gone up with a few bets for the series and game 1.....really like Kobe over 23.5 - averaging 25 in the playoffs....going against the grain but don't really rate Detroit's Defense :o (they are not as good as the Spurs) playing against teams who couldn't score 90 points in a game if their life depends on it inflates what they do.....the 2 Wallaces' are overrated - long arms and rebounds is what they give you...and don't see Rip hamilton or Prince stopping Kobe (who will be up for it on national telly before his court case) Shaq to score most points at 8/11 over Rip hamilton in Game 1 is interesting - Shaq averaged 20 in playoffs, Rip 21.5 (20 in 1st 2 rounds) - Rip going against Kobe, Shaq on Ben Wallace - Ben Wallace is no Dennis Rodman who can D Shaq up one on one - just giving up 2 much height and weight, so they may double team, or play him 1 on 1 as they think Ben can take him :\ ....Shaq comes to play in Game 1 of a series when he has something to play for, so expect him to come out strong and do what he did to the Wolves in game 1 and completely dominant the game on both ends. Rip will get his points (as no one else can score) but with Kobe on him he will find it tougher than playing against Reggie Miller. :D Wouldn't take any of the handicaps at the minute (-8 on LAL) too unpredictable - they could come out and kill them by 20 or they could get bogged down and only win by 3 or 4.....they play to their competition - and look at times that they know they should win so why bother....but they will win it as too much fire power against the stagnant pistons Hopefully Paddypower will come up with some nice bets for us all to get on throughout the finals.....price on how many times they show the Bad Boys of the late 80's would be interesting.....if only Detriot still had Joe D, Laimbeer and Vinny Johnson (legend!) they may stand a chance....:lol :lol

Re: NBA Finals Can't agree, bozzer. Detroit are a great chance to pull this off...very happy to be sitting on them at 9/1ish. I do understand what you are saying about teams from the East not scoring, but you simply cannot underestimate the Piston D. They held Indi under 40% in every game, and it's not like they were missing open jumpers or lay-ups. I said it a month ago, and will again now. Rasheed Wallace has been HUGE to this team. The best measue of a defense (IMO) is blocked shots. Ben av. 2.83 per game and Rasheed 2.06 (Both better than Duncan @ 2.00). In fact throw in Tashaun Prince at 1.61 blocks per game and the Piston's have 3 of the top 10 shot blockers in the play-offs. Detroit lead the League all season for blocks @ 6.95 per game. I'm not convinced they will start Big Ben on Shaq. Elden Campbell got the start in both reg. season games...but there are no shortage of options for the Pistons. Okur also more than handy. Ben play more weak-side D, and force Malone to hit jump shots all day. LA won by 5 @ home, and Det won by 10 @ home in the meetings this year...Det won eaasily at home last season also...And now they have Rasheed Wallace?? Agree, they are no Salley/Rodman/Laimbeer/Thomas/Dumars et al...but they are the best chance to come out of the East for a lot of years now.
