tipstar
Re: legacy? The Legacy Selection Procedure Below is the step by step guide you need to follow to arrive at selections. 1. Obtain a copy of the Racing Post, other dailies can be used but for accuracy we suggest you use the racing Post. You can also access their website. The address is:- www.racingpost.co.uk 2. Refer to the subsection ‘Qualifying Meetings and Races- Flat’ and only consider races from these meetings. You can also include any qualifying evening and Sunday meetings. 3. Delete any blind meetings. This is any meeting that is not given a full show and results service by S. I. S. As a rule this only occurs on Bank Holidays. 4. Then from these qualifying meetings we are only interested in Non- Handicap races. So put a line through all handicaps, including Nurseries (two year old Handicaps). 5 From the remaining races, we are only concerned with those where 9 or less runners go to post, both for the Flat and National Hunt. 6. Only consider the type of race alongside each racecourse. For example; at Ascot you should back 2 year olds only, but at Brighton, you would bet on 2 year olds - 3 year olds and upwards. 7. Once you have completed all the selection criteria above, from the remaining races you have left, we are only interested in backing the absolute favourite, no joint or co-favourites, at a price of ‘Evens’ or better. This must be the favourite as outlined in the Racing Post. Even though your selection may end up ‘Odds on’ at SP, so long as you obtain at least ‘Evens’ somewhere in the betting, the that horse is a qualifying bet. 8. When placing your bet you should always wait and ‘take’ the second show price. So which ever horse is the favourite on the second show of betting, then that horse is your selection. For example; lets say your original selection is the favourite running in the 3.30 at Newbury. Your horse opens at 6/4, and the second show is 7/4. But another horse in the race has gone from 7/4 in to 6/4, therefore becoming the new favourite. So as the other horse has now become the new favourite on the second show then this is your new selection, In short, your selection is the horse that is favourite on the second show of betting. (This is called flip-flopping favourites). After analysing a large sample of betting shows research has shown that taking the second show price has proved far more profitable than both the opening show and SP.
