Huntingdon 13th Oct

2.30 Huntingdon Tight little handicap, mccoys rides are always a danger with him on board but you have to be sure when backing him simply because price gets crashed because of him and im not convinced showed little until stepped up in trip last time out and now up another 2f and also loss of 5lb claimer and 4lb rise in handicap could be one to avoid at price. Phone in is showing some promise again under this jockey and is still a few pounds under last win but they have all come over shorter trips and steps up again today. Amazing valour made all well from the front round here last weekend and surely holds claim again if doing the same the 7lb penalty is gonna make things tougher but this jockey appeared to get a nice tune out the horse. 0.5pt win amazing valour 3.30 Huntingdon Viva colonia won well going away last time on debut over hurdles in maiden company, has to come here under a penalty in the weights which is sure to make things tougher but if trained on and in fine fettle could go well again to beat the biggest threat the inform maiden runner penyfan dawn. 1pt win viva colonia 4.00 Huntingdon Overrule has been running extremely well in novice events and could be well treated on handicap debut, has also been fairly good on flat during the summer and the faster ground will suit here today. Mayor of kilcock is another that won extremely impressively in novice event but may have to find a bit more of this mark than over rule has but mccoy in seating a real threat again 0.25pt e/w overrule 5/1 bet365 0.25pt e/w mayor of kilcock 5/1 bet365

Re: Huntingdon 13th Oct 3.00 Huntingdon It's A Roofer - remains a maiden over fences but won off 100 over hurdles and has shown promise in this sphere when placed behind Sarahs Gift and Shanahan over this trip on this ground off similar sort of mark. Has to bounce back after no show, latest. Rio Lane - lightly raced type with ten starts to name. Was off the mark on handicap chase debut at Worcester in August and only 6 lbs higher now but that win came over shorter. Weakened when upped in trip thereafter though and jumped erratically when last seen and unseating rider, opposable for today. Ortega - relatively experienced chaser who won a novices handicap chase off 6 lbs lower at Southwell in April when holding Cannon Fire. Acts at this track and would be handicapped to have a chance, but there have to be doubts as to whether this trip is on the sharp side for him (win came over 3m 2f). High Gliding - sole success in eight starts came at Tyrella in an Irish point. Under rules, showed little over hurdles but seems better over fences. Although fell on chase debut at Fakenham in March, was well in touch before falling at the 12th, and bounced back last time out with respectable third over this trip at Plumpton, when not getting the race run to suit but running on well and jumping more cleanly. Feeling Peckish - longstanding maiden under rules. Unseated when last seen, easily opposable. Verdict: Modest fare here but with plenty of the runners having something to prove it may be worth taking a chance of High Gliding, who was badly outpaced at Plumpton last time but was never able to get himself into contention in a race in which the winner dominated. He is open to further improvement for John Jenkins and looks the call at 5/1 with Hills (bog).
