I've just got villain playing 33/7 over 27hands so he's quite loose passive though a tiny sample. No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (6 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com CO ($112.80) Button ($111.65) Hero (SB) ($224.75) BB ($112.80) UTG ($100.30) MP ($111.40) Preflop: Hero is SB with Aheart.gif, 10club.gif UTG calls $1, 3 folds, Hero bets $4, 1 fold, UTG calls $3 Flop: ($9) 4spade.gif, 6club.gif, 10spade.gif (2 players) Hero bets $5, UTG calls $5 Turn: ($19) 2club.gif (2 players) Hero bets $12, UTG calls $12 River: ($43) 4heart.gif (2 players) Hero bets $20, UTG raises $79.30 (All-In) I was just planning to go for pure value against a player who would call down lightly, but then he quite quickly shoved the river! Is there enough reason to call or does he just always have it here?

Re: Going for value but get shoved on I think you have to give him credit for the 4 here. The flop isnt a bad one for a pair of 4's, the turn comes a 2 which would look like a total brick. River comes another 4 - you bet, he shoves. If he had re-raised to $40 it would have been a much cuter move as you are almost priced into a crying call. I can understand if you did call but not sure what he would have been bluffing with - apart from a missed draw - fold for me...
