2.40 Nottingham This is a good looking print here with cape royal taking this last year off a 4lb higher mark. has been showing a return to form aswell recently with a 2nd on soft ground last time out, he loves the testing ground so should cope well. 0.5pt e/w cape royal 3.50 Nottingham Persian peril is one of only 2 with solid form on soft/heavy ground. The other is best prospect but he hasnt showed much lately. Persian was a tidy 3rd at newmarket on good ground and is raised a 1lb for that effort and does run off a career high again today but running into form aswell as having previous form on heavy going. 0.5pt e/w persian peril

Re: Nottingham 30th July 3.15 Nottingham Five none runners have been declared here because of the heavy ground and in the reformed market, Fongoli stands out at 13/2. Brendan Powell has been campaigning this one over hurdles for the last few months and he has really relished tackling obstacles, finishing a decent second to Graysland at Ffos Las and then winning novice hurdles at Stratford and Newton Abbot. The fitting of a visor and the step up in trip have certainly worked well for him of late, and he now moves back into the flat on his same mark of 52. On the flat he has been restricted to the middle-distances thus far, but now moves into the staying division and I think that can continue his improvement. He had placed off 52 previously over inadequate trips, and finished 2nd of 4 on heavy ground at Leicester last year to hint he is worth a go on bottomless ground this afternoon. 13/2 Bet 365, EW.
