2.45 Goodwood Ialysos the greek freak is back out after a much improved race at sandown on good ground, does have to concede 5lb all round which could be a test buts seems to be at home over 5f on good ground! 0.5pt e/w Ialysos (6/1 bog paddypower) 3.25 Goodwood Was luck enough to be at ascot to see this old boy caracciola race up at royal ascot and won nicely and rightly deserves his first try in a flat group race. Is the oldest here today by a long way, has beaten friston forest recently on level weights 0.5pt e/w caracciola (9/1 bog stanjames)

Re: Glorious Goodwood Day 3 2.45 Goodwood Borderlescott is my favourite horse, ever, so I am backing him out of sentiment pure and simple. However, from a form point of view I think Kingsgate Native is the one to be on. The fact this horse has never competed below listed level says everything about his class, and although he disappointed on his first start for Sir Michael Stoute, I think he can still reproduce the excellent form he showed when with Jim Best. This is a Group 1 horse in a Group 3 race, and his form from the past couple of seasons is very solid. He is a dual winner at the highest level, having won the 2007 Nunthorpe and the 2008 Golden Jubilee Stakes, as well as finishing a strong second to Benbaun in the Prix de L'Abbaye. That is top notch sprint form. He ran over course and distance on his second start at two and was a neck second to Fleeting Spirit, so we know he acts here, and his third to Borderlescott in the 2008 Nunthorpe shows he still has ability. He has only had one start this season, flopping in the Golden Jubilee Stakes at Ascot, but there was significant money for him that day on his reappearance and to me, that suggests he has trained on, which is what you expect when he is in the care of one of the best trainers in the world. He remains open to improvement and looks as if he has been handed a good draw in box two, with stalls 3, 4 and 7 all likely to show plenty of speed from the low numbers. 7/1 Blue Sq, EW.
