He showed his turn wouldn't be far away when a narrow third behind Keys of Cyprus at Ripon last week (btn 0.62 lengths) and racing off the same mark, he is my pick. 10/1 Bet 365, EW.

Re: York - Sat 25th July 2.05 York Merseryside Star was well fancied ahead of his handicap debut at Pontefract but the stiff finish put pay to his chances and he finished unplaced. However, his promising run at Ascot when last seen suggests a win off this sort of mark is not beyond him and at 7/1 I think he is worth chancing. 7/1 VC.
