Just a strange hand

Just wanted to show one of the weirdest hands i've ever played that happened a couple of days ago where i turned a big hand into a bluff, with a weird twist at the end. No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (6 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com UTG ($97.50) MP ($143.55) CO ($100) Hero (Button) ($135.45) SB ($100.20) BB ($55.41) Preflop: Hero is Button with Kdiamond.gif, Kspade.gif 3 folds, Hero bets $3.50, SB calls $3, 1 fold Flop: ($8) 8heart.gif, Jdiamond.gif, 9diamond.gif (2 players) SB checks, Hero bets $7, SB raises $20, Hero calls $13 Didn't like the c/r but there's a lot of weaker hands that could be doing it so want to see what happens on the turn. Turn: ($48) 10club.gif (2 players) SB bets $28, Hero calls $28 Awful turn card but villain didn't bet too big and something just didn't seem right so wanted to see what happened on the river, if he checked i felt i could put him all in and he'd fold even 2 pair or a set, he'd shove with a straight. River: ($104) 6spade.gif (2 players) SB checks, Hero bets $50, SB calls $48.70 (All-In) So he checks, bingo i don't think for too long before putting him all in, he thinks for ages until calling ... oops Total pot: $201.40 Results: Hero had Kdiamond.gif, Kspade.gif (one pair, Kings). SB had Jclub.gif, Aclub.gif (one pair, Jacks). Outcome: Hero won $199.70 What?! I didn't think there was any hand he was going to call with that i beat. Funnily enough he figured right that i was bluffing the river but i was bluffing with the best hand :loon I didn't think he could call me down light on the river, nevermind with just 1 pair but now i know i won't be trying such things vs this guy again :lol He insta left fwiw. What a strange hand in total.

Re: Just a strange hand Nade - why do you say it was a such a strange hand? He calls button raise from SB with suited AJ... maybe he should have re-raised preflop to better define your hand? Then he reraises a pot sized raise on the flop, which I am sure he considers a c-bet... bets half pot when the scare card comes down on the turn and decides to check on river as you called the turn. You bet pot and he cant put down his top pair. I am trying to learn the cash game mentallity but am still struggling. At the level I play, at super-super micro stakes 2/4 & 5/10c, it is difficult to define a players hand as you don't get many regulars and betting patterns are difficult to determine as stupid aggression is often the tactic. Back to the question and that is how would you have played his hand differently?
