Rugby League..Super League Round 21 and Co Op Championships

Recommended Posts

Liking Whitehaven -4 10/11 Stan J in tonight's Sky offering. Had virtually two weeks off, whilst Barrow were involved in a bruising cup final on sunday. A 3-4 day turnaround is brutal in this sport, whatever the level. Many have full time jobs also. Haven did send half a dozen or so Ist teamers to the 9's tourney, but it turned out nowt more than a runabout/cobweb shaker as they did'nt get past the group stage. In fairness to Barrow, they've addressed their squad limitations with the high profile loan signing of Jamie Rooney and ex Saints pack squadman sam thompson, and both will feature tonight, but i like a 'solid on home soil' team to prevail, once their big forwards have set the tone. Usually no-holds barred between these two, with 2 sinbins in the return fixture, and with 9 of Haven's 13 league games having at least 1 yellow, the 13/8 for one later ain't too shabby. The rooney v McNally matchup a mouthwatering prospect in what should be a good un, weather forecast ok also.

Re: Rugby League..Super League Round 21 and Co Op Championships Cheers lee. The dodgy weather always plays havoc with my thinking in what is a trappy season anyhow, and the NW has had it's fair share of rain yesterday and today. Taking the big h'cap start has it's supporters in these conditions, but would'nt go against Saints personally. Waiting on Gidley and Eastmond..if they start will be on ist St's try before 13th min. Still mulling over others. GL all.

Re: Rugby League..Super League Round 21 and Co Op Championships Two for me tonight... Castleford (-4) to beat Salford @ 4/5 (bet365 [-6 now available elsewhere]) 3/5 Took this a couple of days ago when bet365 released their prices early. Lines moved a bit since but the -4 had me hooked. Not including Murrayfield, Cas have only lost twice away from home this season at Saints and KR and come into this game on the back of a very impressive 40-18 home win over Hull FC. Not the sternest of opposition granted, but Cas were nearly out of sight at half-time, peppering the Hull line with numerous disallowed tries. They're unchanged tonight, still missing Brent Sherwin while James Evans and Sione Faumuina also miss out. Salford were disappointing last week, losing away to Celtic 25-12. They defeated St Helens the week prior but I don't think they'll be able to match Cas' tonight. Looking at their record, they've managed to raise their game against the bigger names - staying within the handicap start at home to Saints, Bradford and Warrington - but sides lower down the league - Wigan, Harlequins and Hull FC amongst them - have managed to come away from Salford with the win. Captain Rob Parker and Ian Sibbit both miss out tonight and, generally speaking, Salford have struggled to stay in touch with the handicapper all season. I'll take a chance on that continuing again tonight. Hull KR (+14) to beat Leeds @ 4/5 (Coral) 3/5 Also like the look of KR with 14 start tonight. KR have been a good earner for this thread this season and have collected 9 out of 10 times away with the 14 start this season. They managed to overcome Bradford in a slightly flattering 32-12 home win last week but generally, they seem to be overcoming the blip in form suffered after being knocked out the Cup by Warrington. Stanley Gene is out while there are doubts over the fitness of Shaun Briscoe. Briscoe will be a massive loss but Ben Cockayne has looked decent out on the Wing recently and will step in if Briscoe doesn't make it. To compound matters, Leeds have conceded 30 points in consecutive away fixtures and have lost 4 out of their last 5 at home when the handicapper has had his say. They have been disappointing by their standards all this season and will be looking to build up some form ahead of the play-offs tonight. They'll be hoping to do so without the injured Ryan Bailey and Ian Kirke and even if they manage to take the 2 points, with poor weather predicted I fancy KR to stay within the 2 converted tries tonight. GL all :hope :ok

Re: Rugby League..Super League Round 21 and Co Op Championships Leeds vs Hull KR I know not a lot about rugby league i admit but one bet interested me in this tie. Going on stats alone in the last couple of matches, the Over 42.5 points offered on bet365 looks very interesting... Hull KR - 28-36, 32-18, 10-40 Leeds - 33-20, 48-14, 20-12 Ok the 20-12 doesnt back this up but they were playing a poor Hull side that day. Over 42.5 points @ 2.00 looks very good to me!

Re: Rugby League..Super League Round 21 and Co Op Championships Cheers Kev. Don't really see much on the h'caps for the rest of the weekend though :\. Will probably look for a tryscorer or under/over bet if anything. Dead happy for Wakey tonight though. They were the better side last week and although Saints were depleted, I reckon they deserved it overall. Great win for them :clap.

Re: Rugby League..Super League Round 21 and Co Op Championships Would kick myself if i did'nt take this and it came in. Catalans -10 @ 1.90 expkt. Don't think it'll last, nearest is corals minus 12 but the general cap is 14-16, whilst hills go cats by 13+ 4/6. The reason being Quins' injury woes, with arguably their 5 most important players out. Inspirational skipper Purdham, regular halfback pairing Dorn and Orr, jt top scorer Howell, and missing his first match in 3 years the chief playmaker Chad Randall. The latter is a bitter blow, he makes this side tick ... On top of that two forwards have been allowed to stay at home with pregnant wives. Mcdermott drafted in some youngsters with a French rookie set to feature. Cats have found a bit of form recently, and are still in the play-off mix along with Quins. Weather set to be warm so a pts fest beckons.

Hard lines mate. Weather goosed it. Sound reasoning though, and would have been a cakewalk in better conditions. No coincidence, that not one SL game on home soil went over, on the Total Points. Only the Catalans match beat the spread...played in 80 degrees sunshineee!
